That is a good price. The one I handled had a black resin stock and grip. It felt pretty substantial and far from cheap.

Unless I misread the ad, it comes with the pine crate for that price.

Now, they have the same gun for $299 without the crate. I don't need a $40 wooden crate.

You might, if he ever decides to sell or trade it.

That will be up to him when he moves out. :D I have contacted a guy with an FFL who might be able to grab one for me, don't know yet. 'd hate to see them go out of stock forever while I'm waiting for my tax return! 8)

I have a early GSG-522 MP5 clone. Thing was somewhat finicky after 1000~ rounds. I got mine to run fine after a little cleanup work and replacing old recalled parts. Overall GSG stands by their products and isn't afraid to send you parts for free.

That's good to know! The dealer who said he was going to grab one, hasn't so hoping for a tax refund that comes on time.

I really enjoy my GSG .22 LR StG 44. Obviously the weapon has no recoil (thanks to the weight) and mine is exceptionally (and surprisingly) accurate.

Someone mentioned the MP-40 clone which should be lighter.  Is that an option?

I've put a couple hundred rounds through my STG44.  I did have one magazine that gave me some issues until I very lightly sanded the gap between the feed lips.  I was having rounds hanging up in the magazine.  After a bit of light sanding it now feeds properly.  As far as the weight of the rifle goes, it's very, very close to the weight of the original rifle.  I don't find the weight to be a problem.

I bought mine without the wooden crate for $299 through CDNN Sports -

This one came without crate, but the boy doesn't care - he loves it. He also finally gets to keep it in his room, albeit with a cable lock on it with the Mrs and I having the keys, but he can have it in his room and he appreciated the additional responsibility. It is accurate so far, but we need to wring it out on a serious afternoon together on the firing line. The rear sight had to be set at the 300 yard mark to get it on the target at 100 yards, so the "optimistic" sight range out to 1000 yards isn't QUITE truthful. ;)
will need to buy some good ammo - the Remington Golden Bullet generic stuff doesn't seem to be incredibly accurate. No malfs so far! Well, except for the one thing that MAC posted on his channel - sometimes the bolt doesn't go forward when you slap the bolt handle down from full rearward. What I did discover is that if you retract the handle all the way to the rear, then let it go, the bolt will always follow. Considering that this is NOT a combat rifle, I and he can live with that. It really is neat, such a detailed replica! If you are at all a WWII buff, grab one.
