Need some advice P-09 vs Sp-01 vs 75B UG
« on: January 31, 2017, 02:16:16 PM »
Hey everyone, just needing some info from the experts here. I am looking to buy a new full sized CZ. I currently own a matte stainless 75B and a P-01 Urban Grey suppressor ready. I really like the new P-09 with the FDE lower and black slide which is suppressor ready, the KYGUNCO SP-01 black suppressor ready, and the 75b urban grey suppressor ready models. Can anyone point me in a good direction to which they would purchase for range use/ general plinking? In the future I will purchase a suppressor but do not currently have one. The p-09 and the SP-01 are basically the same price - $625 +/- a few dollars. The 75B is $515 on GB. Thanks!

If you want a suppressor then get teh P09 or 75B. Otherwise the SP-01.

Oooh, if it's a range and plinking pistol that you'll put a suppressor on eventually I'd say do the SP-01. Great grip, little more weight forward, then you could put a light on it and the suppressor for home defense if you eventually chose to do so.
My jealousy for your P-01 suppressor ready is unbelievable!

the P09 is just ok, imo, but that SP01 is awesome, I have that exact P09 and i sooo wish I would have gotten the SP01 instead.

I may be the odd man out here.  I have a 75B, a P-09 and an SP-01 Tactical, suppressor ready in OD Green.

My Tactical is the best shooter of the bunch but I shoot my P-09 the most and absolutely love it.  I think the Omega trigger system is easier to 'tune' and I don't worry so much about banging the P-09 around.  It is also extremely accurate.

To me, the Tactical is a good range queen but the P-09 is a work horse.  Also, the nitride finish on the barrel of the P-09 just never seems to get dirty.

Where's the pictures???

I have an OD Green PO-1, decocker. Best grip, balance,  feel and most accurate of any and all pistols I've owned. I know it's not really relevant but it gives me an excuse to show mine. I've had it nine years now.

I probably enjoy shooting my Urban Grey P09 more than the SP01. I need to put more time into the SP01 though.

I would suggest the SP-01.  The heavier slide makes recoil impulse a little more sluggish and "softer" to most.

Both the SP01 and the 75B in UG have the enhanced frame with the upswept beavertail and the d-style mag release.  Depends on whether you want the forward cocking serrations or the high power cut.

I have both the UG P09 and a Shadow and I find the P09 actually shoots softer then the shadow. I have no idea why but it does.

I also shot the P09 suppressed and it worked well.

My choice would be the urban grey P09.

I have a sp01 tactical, fde p09 and urban grey p09all with full Cajun kits.  The sp01 is used for competition only and shoots the best overall. The p09 are very versatile one is a car gun/back up comp gun the suppressor model is HD only. If it's going to be mostly a range gun go all steel for sure. For multiple roles go p09. To add some weight to the p09 buy a m&p pro tungsten guide rod from speed shooter specialties.

I have a CGW P-09 and an Akai SP-01 Shadow. For me, the Shadow has less felt recoil and shoots better. That's my USPSA gun. The 09 has been getting used for IDPA and outlaw 2 gun matches. Also an excellent shooting gun and lives in my truck when not being used for matches.

For what you're going to use it for, get the SP-01.

I only have one P09 9MM.  I have several CZ 75 Compacts, a P01 and a Pre CZ 85, all in 9MM.

While the CZ 75/85 pistols feel very good/comfortable in my hand, none of them shoot, for me, like the P09.  It's a laser if I do my part.  My first range trip, at 12 yds., off hand, I had to shoot 3 shots to see the hole get a tiny bit bigger in the paper.  And yes, the group went downhill during the next 16 rounds, but three rounds tearing a hole I had to walk out to the target to examine (and convince myself it really was a tad bit bigger) is awesome.

If I felt the need for another tack driving 9MM I'd go get another P09.

Oh, I saw mention of suppressor ready P09's.  Be sure, if your intent is to eventually get a suppressor, that the pistol has more than just a threaded barrel - you want suppressor height sights, too.  Otherwise you'll spending money for those as well as the for the suppressor.  I've seen "suppressor ready" pistols with standard sights.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
