« on: February 06, 2017, 07:02:19 PM »
ATF White Paper leaked

If true, can SBRs be far behind?

You can bet that there will be language included addressing the SBR issue, whether it's favorable or unfavorable remains to be seen.

Read the white paper.
Author within ATF very in favor of declassifying silencers.
However, the end of the report made very clear that they were just one individual's opinions. Unclear what, if any, clout his recommendations carry.
This could potentially deregulate silencers without the lenghy process required of the proposed Hearing Protection Act.
Could also go nowhere...

There's a white house petition to repeal the NFA

No way will they get the signatures. If for any other reason names etc on petitions are not protected and likely gets your name where you may not want it to be.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

"The conclusion of the White Paper addresses it nicely:"
"Alleviating some of these concerns would continue to support ATF?s relationships across the firearms and sporting industry, and allow ATF to further focus precious personnel and resources on the mission to combat gun violence."

law of unintended consequences, anyone ?

that kind of a "mission" (in a mind of a liberal) can lead to places, no ?

not sure how it relates to alcohol and tobacco but maybe at least there are more missions there ?

Well, you didn't think an appointee who survived 8 years of the previous Administration wouldn't know how to write his statements? 8) We'll see what happens, but I would love to buy suppressors over the counter, as it were.
