Base Plate Stickers
« on: February 09, 2017, 09:50:05 PM »
Anyone have a link where to get magazine base plate stickers? I remember seeing them before, but I can't find them anymore.

Hoping to see some options come up.  I use a Silver Magic Marker and it wears off after awhile.

Here ya go. Looks like these are made of grip tape.

These look ok as well.

Thank you! Apparently I wasn't searching the right terms at all.

Got the ones off of eBay since I prefer black.

Max. = 6 mags?   May have to be punched for access to the mag base removal pin.
Like the blue ones.

The eBay one sells 6-11 as well. I liked the blue, but I didn't like it enough to pay twice the price.

Silver sharpie with a bit of clear tape over it will last a long time.

Just got the eBay ones in. They're pretty nice, but you do have to trim them to fit the CZ base pads.

Glad they are working out.

I was thinking about it and another option would be to go to a local skateboard shop and pick up some grip tape. They might even give you the off cuts. This would require downloading/useing a word program to make a stencil and printing it out for a cutting guide unless you decided to free hand it.

Skateboard shops have all kinds of colors these days not just black like back in the day. Even if the off cut where unavailable at the cost of one sheet  for one board you could make a hole lot of mag tags.

That is  a good option.  I used a hole punch on grip tape to clear the grip screws,  but the numbers would need to clear the base release holes.  More awkward than it sounds with grip tape.  3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9,    lots of detail work to cut out somehow. :-\

^^Good point, you could just use dot/holes for the numbers. I did this for my CZ97 mags with poly base plates and my MecGar 75 mags with poly base plates. I melted little dimples with my stippling soldering iron. Past about 6 this could get confusing to count the dots though. It would be great for a blind shooter too! Like braille.  ;D

I guess the actual numbers could be dimpled in with the iron,  and then the dimples could be colored with a silver Sharpie.  That wouldn't rub off inside the dimples.

Using the tape over the Sharpie numbers is more practical after all is said and done. ::)

Agreed. I may have to try adding sharpie to my mag base dimples though, it would make them show up better. Good idea, i never thought of that.

Discoverd the downside today. Since this stuff is pretty abrasive, I was scratching up my forearm on them. Easy fix, just relearn how to leave my arms.

These appear to be just laser cut safety walk tape so I could make them pretty easily myself. If enough people are interested, I can probably get some made (in any color as well).
