Canik TP9DA
« on: February 25, 2017, 01:44:37 PM »
I've been wanting to purchase a TP9V2 in fear that Canik would quit making the TP9s with a decocker. Now I see that they are keeping the decocker and also making some improvements with the TP9DA. It comes out with better factory sights and will have the option of replacing the front sight like what can be done with the TP9SF. I'm excited ;D. Hopefully I can pick up a TP9V2 for under $300 when the new TP9DA becomes more available ;)

Thanks for posting wdbutcher. I like you may have to pick up the V2 if they're at or under $300 shippedalthough the new DA looks intriguing.

Best price I could find on a TP9V2 out the door was $340ish.

The Kentucky Gun Co. has the cheapest TP9V2s I've found so far, $338.99 with free shipping to your FFL. I just about bought one until I saw the new TP9DAs. Lanbo's Armory had the TP9SAs for around $275 plus around $15 shipping a while back, so I'm hoping the TP9V2 will come down in price too.

Cabela's has the new TP9DA priced at $419, but they have none of them in stock. I'll wait to get one online when they're are around $350 :)
My local FFL has the their TP9SFs priced at $304 plus tax, but I really want the TP9V2 or TP9DA.

The TP9SF is without the decocker, which is one of the defining and attractive features of the P99 design copied by Canik.  If I get one it will have that lovely feature.  Pressing the decocker physically bars the striker in the P99 and serves as another reholstering safety feature.

There were a lot of Walther P99AS pistols on Gunbroker a few months ago with no reserve. Some were selling for a little over $400. That was very tempting! A friend of mine bought 4 or 5 of them. Nice pistol!

I got one for $426 all in and its a terrific pistol.  I put Trijicon sights on it and found some 15 round magazines on sale and now have a great full sized polymer pistol.

I just picked up a very gently used V2 last week for $299.  After tax and fees, $328.  Made a nice companion to my SA.

Looking good! Are they as accurate as they say they are?

They can be if you do your part and find ammo they like.
