455 Varmint & 452 American, threaded for suppressor
« on: February 26, 2017, 02:06:29 PM »
I have a .17 varmint 455 and 452 American .22lr.  going to be threading them.  do I HAVE to cut down to 16.5" or can I leave them at factory length?  thanks a lot!

You don't have to cut them. A 20 or 24" barrel with a 6", or so, long suppressor hanging off the end might be a little unwieldy for anything but bench work though.

but not the ability.

you don't have to cut them down, but as was stated, they become a bit unwieldy.

you don't lose much velocity going from 20" down to 16.5"

like 30 fps - that's within variance of ammunition lots.

so I consider it a no brainer...might as well keep the handling the same WITH suppressor on.

but I'm wierd, and am registering a 455 as an SBR to cut one down to 11.5"
