I don't like the way the slide stop digs into my support hand. Does anyone know if there is any way to make a Rami slide stop work in the Shadow 2? It seems plenty long enough and it seems to lock in, but you can't rack the slide more than about a half-inch with the Rami slide stop in it. I can't figure out why unless the post is a bigger diameter and is binding in the peanut hole under the barrel? Or does it have to do with the short squared off post? Any enlightenment you can offer is appreciated.

I think I've answered my own question. I tested both slide stops in the peanut hole and both traveled freely along the length of the hole. However. the shorter posts are different lengths slightly which places the ledge outside of the groove in the slide when there's a mismatch and this causes the slide to bind upon attempting to rack.  But you more experienced guys probably already knew that.

So now I'm thinking of grinding off the little nubbin on the short slide stop post that rides in the slide. I suppose this will render the slide stop non-functional as far as locking back on the last round but, the question now is - will it damage my new S2?

Have you tried a P-01 or PCR slide stop? They should fit. The SP-01 Compact slide stop should fit as well. They may not dig into your support hand as much.

The P01, SP01 Compact, and Shadow2 slide stops are all the same, that is they will interchange with each other, and they all dig into my hand. The P01 and Shadow2 are a little worse (sharper). I put a low profile Rami slide stop on my Shadow1 and solved the problem on that gun, but the Rami won't work in the P01, SP01C, or Shadow2.

The PCR has a different style slide stop. I haven't seen it in  person, but in pictures it looks closer to the slide stop on my classic 75 Compact. Not sure it that would solve the issue of it digging into your hand. It's not as slim as the Rami, but it looks shorter and less aggressive. Hope there's a decent solution for ya.

Thanks for the suggestion Scar, The PCR slide stop may or may not function in the Shadow2 since CZ USA lists it as being used for the Kadet adaptor on a P01, but it gets expensive ordering slide stops for testing. Ideally, I would like a slide stop like the P07/P09 has. I went ahead and ordered a P07/P09 slide stop last night to try out and if it doesnt work out I can give it to my grandson (I gave him my P07) - alternatively, I could file off the nubbin that rides in the slide of that one instead of one I actually could use as a spare. One drawback of filing off the nubbin is it will likely render the slide stop as nonfunctional in locking back the slide and the ranges I shoot at require that pistols be locked back before laying them down for loading mags etc. I could just place it in the case and close the lid while loading up mags though.

Hey schmeky, is the sear cage in an 85C different? I tried swapping over the hammer + sear cage assembly from my 85C, and the cage prevented the slide from going back I believe. The disco is a fitted Type 3 which came from the 85C. I then tried using the original S2 sear cage, and everything worked fine.

Speaking of sear cages... I'm trying to put the Shadow 2 hammer I took out of the S2 - in orger to put a CGW comp hammer - into my Shadow 1, but I can't get the sear cage to slide into the frame. It looks like it may be hanging up on th  hammer. However, the hammer slides between the two "ears" of the sear cage when apart. What am I doing wrong?

Never mind, I got it. The little safety detent on the right side (the one w/o a spring) was sticking out and stopping it.
