USPSA again. Starting to get a feel for the SP-01
« on: March 11, 2017, 08:03:20 PM »
Coming from a gun with 29 round mags, a red dot sight, and a compensator to an SP-01 has been a huge adjustment.  Today was better.  I finished 3rd in Production behind to GM's.  I feel pretty good about it.  My classifier score was just shy of A class, my goal is A by summer.  If you haven't given USPSA a try, get out there and give it a go!  More fun than a barrel of monkeys!

Good job, is it an SP-01 or an SP-01 Tactical? Just curious, I want one and haven't made up my mind which, leaning towards non tactical.

Just depends on whether you want a decocker or safety. Decocker is more difficult ot work on, but they're pretty much the same otherwise.

This is the manual safety model.

Thanks, I like carrying my decocker  09, 07 but thought about maybe trying some gun games again. I was kind of wanting to try the lighter single and especially double action trigger pull of the safety only model. I polished everything and installed the CGW pro kit on my 09, it made a lot of difference in it. I'll be doing the 07 before long, but I don't think either of them will be as good as a safety only model.
Besides I'm trying to justify a new gun to myself ;D

My double action is around 5lbs smooth.  My SA is right around 2 with a short reset.  If I miss...its my fault.

I just got the SP-01 Tactical for USPSA myself. Are you running the stock sights or something different. I have found that I am having a hard time with the stock sights. I did just switch from my Glock 36 with Dawson Precision sights so I think that is my adjustment problem. I may need to get some different sights but just curious what you were using.
