CZ-45, questions about calibers and action
« on: March 12, 2017, 08:50:52 AM »
I thought these were .25 cal., any other calibers?

It appears they are all DAO?

Interested in adding one of these to the collection!  :)

The Wikipedia entry for the CZ45 only shows .25 ACP.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CZ_45

This write-up only refers to .25 ACP
 http://www.vestpockets.bauli.at/archiv/cz45e.htm

In only one reference did I find it saying that the "Little Tom" series were available in both .25 ACP and .32 ACP, though I haven't seen any backup to support this.  I wonder, though, how they had a different weight and cost for the two calibers?
http://www.pmulcahy.com/pistols/czech_pistols.htm

From the frame size of my CZ45, I really doubt that they would have offered it in .32 ACP--that's a 28% increase in bore ID so you'd need a bigger barrel and by inference a bigger slide and frame.

Yes...the CZ45 is DAO.

It's an ugly little gun, but very tempting...

For the CZ36 I may have to hold out to get czechcollector include me in his will.  ;)

I wasn't really aware of the CZ36's existence before. After seeing pictures online and how it looks a lot like my CZ45, I now want to go back and check each and every one that I thought was a CZ45 at gun shows to make sure that I didn't overlook one.

you guys are missing the really early praga .25 also. I have a rare cz 25 caliber book that has all of them in it. I am willing to email it to someone to post if a moderator allows. I just suck at posting pics, etc..

It is out of print so its ok to reprint!!

Also for the guy asking about the Little tom .32. Yes they do exist. I even have some mags left to sell for it! :) however i think that was after they were made in Austria and not Czech Republic. They all have the WW logo on them.

Here are some pics of the CZ 1945 that just arrived.  It is a 1947 and I can't believe the like new condition.  Very excited.  Later I will take a family picture with the DUO and the "Z".
