Rami Screws
« on: March 13, 2017, 11:40:38 AM »
I don't know if this is common but I had a Rami BD grip screw come out.
I didn't notice it and it got lost somewhere in ether space.

Called CZ and they sent me one for free and said that this happens all the time.
I never heard of this before, has anyone else?

When I install RAMI grips, I follow a certain procedure. There's a grip screw sleeve that each short grip screw actually fastens onto and not the frame. The sleeves fasten onto the holes on the frame. They are not perfectly round but have two slightly straight sides which should point somewhat vertical in the grip hole when properly seated. Make sure they don't extend too far inside the mag well or it'll rub the magazine. While screwing in the grip screw, place your opposite hand index finger inside the mag well to prevent the sleeve from turning in conjunction with the grip screw and possibly sticking past the frame into the mag well. Test with a magazine. I use a lock washer between screw and grip panel.

Are all the Rami screws the same size, or is one larger than the others? I ask b/c I just bought a used Rami that was missing a grip screw.

Can you all help me understand what's going on with mine then?

I have 3 like the screw on the left. And 1 big screw like the one on the right, upper screw for the right grip.

Looks like the insert/stud/sleeve came out with the screw.  My question would be how you got that off without damaging the grip.

If you use vice grips to get the insert off the screw, you will likely need to replace it, but CZ should be able to get you a spare.

It would probably be best to replace both the insert and grip screw.

Yep, you're right. That's what was going on.

As I recall, the Rami screws Are Indde shorter than all the other standard CZ 75 models, just FYI!
