NP3 Coated CGW Hammer
« on: March 16, 2017, 02:01:11 PM »
Hi David,

Would it be at all possible to run a batch of NP3 coated CGW hammers? I got a coated CZC hammer which I feel makes the DA pull a whole lot smoother. I'd love to try out a CGW hammer that is NP3 coated to get that clean break + smooth DA pull. I just imagine it's cheaper to run a batch of hammers rather than a single hammer.

I've contacted Scott at CGW, and he said that an NP3 coated CGW hammer is a possibility. Unfortunately, cost for a single hammer is expensive, but the price can be dropped if multiple people are interested. If you would be interested in buying an NP3 coated CGW hammer (remember, it is production legal now!), post here! Approx 6-8 weeks turnaround time.

Okay, just heard back from Scott. With 5 people interested so far, it will cost an extra $25 with 6-8 week turnaround. A pre-purchase payment (78+25=$103) will be needed. If you are interested, please join the Google form above. If you are no longer interested, please message me with your name/e-mail, and I will remove you.

I went to put my name on the interest form, but it only says for a Race hammer.

Are they only able to do this if everyone gets Race hammers? I am interested, but only if I can get a Ring Hammer. Otherwise I will have to pass.

I will ask Scott when he replies next, but I am sure they can do Ring hammers since it's just a matter of putting it in the box to be coated.

Hey SlvrDragon, could you post pics of your NP3 coated hammer?
I was considering having my CGW race hammer, trigger, some other parts TiCN coated - thoughts on this vs. NP3?
Thanks

Sure, this is the post I made:

As far as I know, NP3 is far more durable than TiCN. Also, NP3 is silver while TiCN has a copper/bronze color I believe.

Okay guys, update on the hammers. Turnaround time is apparently 12-14 weeks now. So we should get this going ASAP if you're interested. Or if you are no longer interested PM me please. I've also asked if there are alternative coatings. Also, ring hammers are okay.
