I polished the hammer strut on my 85C when I was following the guide, but I'm a little hesitant to try and smooth it out completely. Are you guys just using a few passes with a file? Or sandpaper?

I used a Dremel with a sanding wheel to change the shape. Then finished it with 400,800,1500 grit sand paper.

I'd call up CZC and ask if they'll sell one that they've don't.

Tok,

Has there been a noticeable difference in the trigger pull between the rounded strut and stock?  Anything measurable or just smoother?

It smoothed out the DA considerably. The smoothness can make the DA pull feel a bit lighter but i do not believe that it reduced the DA pull weight measurably in my case. If anything a few ounces. It is tough to consistently measure that little difference in the DA.

I agree. It makes the pull smoother. Doubt it lowers the pull weight. For me, I don't care if it's 6.5# as long as it's smooth.

smoothing in this specific area definitely smooths things as out as the hammer spring is compressed. Easy upgrade with a bit of time and some polish/dremel.

Thanks for the pictures- yeah rounding the main spring strut will decrease/polish the  surface scrubbing against the main spring.
That  suppose to help with DA

Thanks for the pictures and the advise on HOW TO. This something I never would have considered. Now I have weekend project.
Build a man a fire and he will be warm for day. Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

I didn't realize this was a thing. Has anyone done a before/after A/B test?
