Tell me about the CZ Mallard and Sporting clays
« on: March 27, 2017, 08:20:14 PM »
Being a bit budget conscious and having a darned time with all the terminology, and also being a BIG CZ fan. I would like this groups thoughts on the CZ Mallard 12g 28" as an entry into the shotgun world. I'm visiting some friend in CT next month that want to take me to their SC club for an introduction. Also, from what I can tell online, I think I would really enjoy getting down to Okeechobee on occasion.

I really don't understand the nuances of all the different shotguns but I would like to. My immediate priority, in order of preference;

1. Shoot Sporting Clays
2. Go duck or pheasant hunting some day.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I'd like to order one this week so I can bring one up with me on my late April trip.
It all sounded a lot funnier in my head.

I think the Mallard would be a fine gun for what you are looking at doing. a lot of hunters would prefer a pump or semi auto so they can have the access of 3 rounds in the gun if needed. I have yet to see any issues with my CZ Redhead target 12 gauge with around 2500 rounds thru it.
