FN and CZ share similar fan bases that are fanatical about their products. I ordered a 509 yesterday and I'll probably buy a P-10C as soon as I can find one.

Hoping to find a 509 as well.

I'll admit - that 509 has me intrigued, and I am not a huge fan of FN pistols. SlvrDragon50, the retexturing of that P-10C grip looks different. ??? I might have missed that picture from elsewhere?

Academy has started listing the P10C on their website. Usually that means they have the firearm at a warehouse and should be in distribution soon.  The pistol's grip looks nothing like what SlvrDragon50's image shows.

The one review states like 1,000 no issues - pre-production ???

Since the P10c isn't the 2nd, or 3rd...or 20th polymer frame, striker fired pistol to the market, I don't think they missed the boat.  Heck, the 509 isn't even FN's first dabble into the market.  It is an update of their existing striker gun to compete for the US military contract.

I'm a big FN fan.  I relied on their small arms for most of my military career (M14, M16, M249, M240, M2, MK19, AT4).  O really wish they had gone FN for the new military pistol.  But, I wasn't going to get the first P10 on the shelf anyway.  I'll give it a year, minimum to field test.

The bore axis of the FN looks much higher than any CZ. That would be a problem for me. Lots of surface area to rack the slide with though!

The 509 'looks' approx the same height as a XDm or Mod.2 but not as high as a PPQ and nowhere near as high as the P320.

If the 509 is practically identical in dimensions and handling to the pair of FNS-9's I had, it should be comfortable to shoot.

Still though, even though FN makes a great firearm, I can't help but wonder why they had to throw in there about it being built to MHS specifications besides using it as a marketing ploy? Also, not really a fan of a pistol that has a full-size grip yet a compact sized slide and barrel.

Good for FN.

One of my favorite configurations for carry, actually.  Also known as a Mid-Size or Bull Dog configuration.
