Found a fatal flaw on the Scorpion Carbine
« on: April 18, 2017, 05:02:21 PM »
It eats ammo so FAST! 😂😂. Such a sweet shooter. Shot 400rds in one hour yesterday. That trigger is stiff! Ordered springs from HB already.

What?  I thought that reloading 200 rounds would be enough for this weekend's first outing.  I better step it up and reload another 600 rounds.  :D
Yeah, the HBI springs helps a lot.  Hopefully you don't have the "World trigger" but not big deal.  I drilled mine from the trigger guard per the youtube video.

My problem is (outside of classes) on the occasion static range trip I take I get bored quick because this damn gun with a quality red dot is like old cheat codes in first person shooter video games.

You can only bullseye the steel plate at 25 yards so many times before you're like  :-\  ::)

First world problems.  :o  8)

I've loved this thing since the day I picked it up back in January of 15'

is why I went down to 3 inch steels at 25 yards, the 4 , 6 and 8 inches were too easy. "was doing the 8's at 75 yards though" by the time the 147gr. 9mm gets there is barely moves the 5/8 thick 8" gong all you hear is a little ping when it hits  ::)....

I drilled mine through the trigger guard and had good success with it.  I can definitely see how drilling out the other side would be more difficult.

Mine ate all kinds of 9mm ammo that I put through it, and asked for seconds.

It is absolutely not picky about bullet shapes and bullet weight.

I might just run some 158gr. subsonics through it if I can find some.

I've been going through at least 200-300 rounds each (pistol and carbine) on every outing. Last trip, took some friends that were anxious to try my S&W .460, until they saw the ball of fire it shoots. Instead, they had fun running the Scorpions. They both remarked how easy they are to shoot well. I backed that up by making a single ragged hole with a full mag from my pistol, using the Shockwave Blade and a solid cheek weld. Might as well start cutting smiley faces into targets, one 9mm hole at a time.

I ran some 158's through mine with the Tirant9 and I was pretty meh.  147's sounded the same to me and accuracy dropped with the 158's.  YMMV.

Thanks. I think I'll stay with the 147's then.

I just finished a polymer 80 glock 34 slide pistol, and I think it might keep me off the evo for a bit. It might actually save me money in the long run shooting slowly at 100yds with it, vs going through magazines like a fat kid through milk duds. Holy cow, my evo is fun to shoot.

try hip shooting 2 in an 8 inch steel then quick shoulder and pop the 4 inchers.... can't hit the 4 for crap "from the hip" at 20-25yards but the 8 inches are getting pretty easy. yet another way to burn through ammo  :-X

Yep, SG Ammo loves me for all the orders since I've gotten the Evo. Now, if they'd just give me a discount on .45...

This is why only taking one or two mags to range helps...takes time to reload lol. I smoothed out and coated all my bearing surfaced in my trigger pack, but still need to get some springs as its still super heavy...just a lot smoother :)
