Indy George,
Just curious if it was the Sig290 or 290rs you tried (with restrike capability)? The redesigned 290rs trigger and overall gun is significantly better than the earlier 290; but there's no doubt the Kahr has a very unique patented action. Kahr PM/CM-9 might just be the best DA micro 9 currently out there. Among the best; it sometimes comes down to which you feel most confident with.

I honestly can't remember - it was in 2015, so it was most likely the RS. I remember trying out the 250 at the same time and thinking it was much better than the 290.

Anyway, it ended up being moot because I won my Gunbroker auction a few weeks later. I got it for $475, and it came with a Crossbreed holster and two spare 8-round mags. That was just too good a deal to pass up.

Yeah, a Kahr PM-9 with the two 8 round mags and a good holster...that was an Awesome deal. I woulda jumped on that too!

I've gotten used to the Sig 290rs DAO trigger. I shoot it plenty accurately enough at 7-10 yards (all inside 2-1/2" radius) for defense. It's not all that heavy a trigger pull to me; comparable to my CZ's in DA, and now after 1000+ it's smooth enough with a clean break; but it's so long a pull and reset that I can't double or triple tap very quickly. I have to consciously allow the trigger to fully reset. It's a very well made gun & mags though; grip stippling is very aggressive (I like that) feels like a Sig; especially compared to others in the micro-9 class. Some of them just feel like junk. But the Kahr, very nice too. Here in FL; this size is most practical year-round carry with only one thin layer of clothing; at most. All I need is cargo pants top pocket and I'm good to go.

But; I started this thread thinking others might chime in, hoping CZ might eventually make a DA/SA Single-Stack Decocker. IF they saw enough market for it. I'd pre-order two in a heartbeat.

I've been asking for a single-stack DA/SA in 9mm that is not a Sig P239 ($$$$) for as long as I can remember. The ultimate would be a CZ. But I'm willing to give the Springfield a try.

JShully,
I'm with you. The XDe might not be perfect; but it seems like a major step in the right direction and worth a try. I'll gladly trade-in one of my strikers like XDS that now sit behind my CZ's in the safe.

I've also been considering an older discontinued S&W CS9 or 3913; but prices on those have gone way up; which I guess tells you something about the renewed demand for a DA/SA single-stack decocker. At least the XDe has the decocker on the frame and the safety goes the correct way; down to fire. They've been listening.

If CZ ever comes around to making one; I'm in on theirs too.

I see this topic pretty regular on the forum, I don't think CZ really cares to do such a build.  I too like my CZ's but as others have stated, in the warmer months I move to a J-frame or similar size carry gun......I too would very much like a DA/SA single stack sub-compact.   Probably not in my lifetime though.....and I ain't that old  ;D

Like CZ A above,  in cool weather my Sig 239 is great,  but in hot weather the grip is too large for a skinny old guy to carry well concealed (which is my preference).

I too wish CZ would make a metal single stack 9mm (also my preference).  7+1 would work for me.

My EDC is a Bersa Thunder 380.  It checks off all the boxes, except for the fact that it's a 380 instead of a 9 mm.  I have pretty big hands, so I don't mind a slide-mounted decocker.  One thing I definitely like better about the XDE is the down-to-decock, up-for-safe setup.  The Bersa stays down (safe) when you decock it, and you have to manually take it off of safe.  I've been carrying for so long, it's not a huge deal to do.  But I like the idea of setup of the XDE better.

Dang, that thing is only 1 ounce lighter than the Rami. Yeah the Rami is chunky, but I wouldn't see such a heavy single stack being worth it. I'm super curious to actually read/see some reviews as people pick this up. As always +100 on CZ making a single stack DA/SA. Maybe an single stack sub compact Omega PCR? I guess that is basically a single stack Omega Rami. Dang that would be sweet. I would buy one right away!

Oh yeah! Single-stack RAMI BD or Omega. Or a micro P-07 that has omega trigger. About .95 thick and 16-20oz. Perfection!!
I love shooting my RAMI BD; just passed 3,000 rounds and the trigger is now like 'butta.' Just a bit too thick for Florida pocket holster carry.

Half thin po7, or a shield like PCR

I am with you all the way. I would buy either of what you describe and replace my current EDC.

I want to contribute some substantive thoughts to this conversation because I am interested in other educated opinions.

Background:
I am a Factory certified Sig Sauer Classic Series (DA/SA), Sig Sauer P320 Series and Glock Armorer.  In 10 days I will also complete my Smith & Wesson Armorer class. I work n my own CZs (P-09 and SP-01) and am sad that CZ does not offer an Armorer class!
I have carried a P239, a P320 SC, a Shield and a Glock subcompact G26 & G27.
My wife carries a Kahr P9 that she LOVES.

I do not like the Kahr because of the "forever long" trigger pull and my XXL hands combined with the short reach to the trigger. In addition, we had a trigger reset problem with it - one day at the range it suddenly stopped resetting unless I pushed inward, hard, on the Side Panel plate at the top right rear of the frame over the trigger bar.  I am having a hard time trusting the Kahr after that, even though I sent it to them and they repaired it under warranty, because none of my Sigs, CZs, Glocks or Shield  ever had any kind of failure.

I sold the P239 because it is so heavy, had lower capacity and the frame was metal.  I live in the Gulf Coast and wanted a higher capacity subcompact with a polymer frame because polymer doesn't corrode when subjected to all of the sweat I produce during the 6 months we have of HIGH humidity and heat.

I liked the Shield because it was reliable, polymer and "disappeared" when I carried it.  I eventually sold it because I wasn't a S&W Armorer so I did not feel comfortable disassembling and re-assembling my pistol which my life may depend upon and I wanted higher capacity. In hindsight, and because I will be taking the S&W Armorer school soon, I will reconsider getting one, but I really want a DA/SA decocker, polymer, single stack - not a striker fired pistol.

I tried the P320 series three times (2 full size and one Subcompact) but sold them.  I sold the SC because I was not accurate with it and I was accurate with the Shield, Kahr, Glock's and P239.  I sold the full size P320s - even though they are the best striker fired action I personally have experienced - because I could not switch back and forth from it to my hammer fired Sig P229 and P226 and CZ P-09 and SP-01 pistols. I say I could not switch back and forth because the striker fired action and break were so different from my DA/SA actions and break, plus I ultimately decided that I was getting very accurate with my DA shots and the SA break is SO good on the four aforementioned pistols. And I want to be accurate with both my DA SA shots and I am actively working to be so via dry fire and live fire practice.  There is a GREAT satisfaction in drilling the "0" in an IDPA target with a DA shot!!!

I used to be a Glock basher, but changed my mind during their Armorer class. I am a Mechanical Engineer so during it I realized that the Glock is an elegantly simple functional and serviceable design.  It is my only striker fired pistol and my only Glock. I carry a G27 Gen 4 because of its improved ergonomics (I modified one of the beavertail backstraps to mimic a Grip Force adapter and installed it to bring the muzzle down to a more normal point of aim for me), it has higher capacity (10 rounds in .40 caliber), it has a polymer frame, it is smaller, reliable and for some reason I have not figured out, I can switch between it and my DA SA pistols and not screw up my trigger pull.  It's not my "perfect EDC", however, because it feels bigger than it is when I carry it.  For example, after a while I could not feel the Shield when carrying it, but the Glock feels bulky all the time.

I say all the above to set the background behind my original statement. I need a hammer fired, DA SA, decocker, subcompact, 8 round minimum, narrow/thin pistol (like the width of a Shield) with a GOOD ACTION AND SMOOTH TRIGGER, one that I cannot feel when I carry it.  A polymer frame would be excellent, but I'd seriously consider an alloy frame if all the other criteria I listed are present.  What do you think fulfills my requirements?  Is my pistol the XDe, something you know of that I have not mentioned, or is it yet to be made?  Are you listening CZ? Your single stack, P-07like subcompact is for me!!

DCSigCZ,
I think we're on the same page.
We'll have to check out the XDe after it hits the streets. But, it sure would be nice if CZ would make a single-stack DA/SA. Polymer frame would be AOK the size and weight approximately similar to Shield.

Yup, a single stack, 3.1 inch barrel mini P-07 would be fantastic.  Make it in 40 also for us big bore guys.   What shall we call it?  P-05?
