cz 97 b Comp
« on: June 23, 2017, 08:48:09 PM »
New to the shooting world but hooked. Got a 97b comp as second owner. Not sure rd count but love the gun and it makes me look like I can shoot. Developed issue tonight with what I call "light strikes". Pull the trigger and no "boom". Even with ammo that I normally run with no issues.  Seems prob spring issue. I know I will get the answer here. Thanks.

Light strikes, as in small dents on the primer?

no real marks on primer. Started all of a sudden. After good cleaning and oiling. Just reclined it and lots of gunk removed. Did start after trying some "shooters ammo". It was very smokey when fired. Pin had lots gunk around it also.  Have not had a chance to retry it.

Is it an older pistol? Or had any work done to it you know of?

Have you tried manually pushing the firing pin while depressing the fpb?

just did and it worked fine. I really think I got oil done in there and it got very dirty.  Had just cleaned it. There was tons of gunk in there. Thanks for all the help guys. I'm new here but loving the info.

Get some non chlorinated Brake Kleen and shoot it at both ends of the firing pin hole. If you feel comfortable enough to remove the firing pin it would be the better option. The Brake Kleen will dissolve any oily deposits on the pin channel and hopefully allow them to be flushed out. You have 1 VERY nice pistol. After spraying, place a pencil, eraser end in first, into the barrel. Hold the pistol with the barrel pointed up and pull the trigger after cocking the hammer. The pencil should jump noticeably if not be ejected completely from the barrel with a good primer strike.

You can also get a can of gun cleaner. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't trust brake cleaner on that finish
