Hi, I just fell on your forum searching for some infos/tips for my newly acquired CZ.

I'm not in the "business" since long, so have much to learn.

I have 1 CZ :
A CZ70 (32 acp) that I had to repair (firing pin broke after 3 shots) and modify (kept jamming with Geco cartridges, would only work with S&B).

And I'm waiting to get my CZ 75 D Compact model delivered (it a used gun). It's not a very common sight here in France (the Compact model and D version even more...we're not allowed to CCW...no use "normaly" for those kind of caracteristics).
I saw it at the gun shop yesterday and as it has been quite used (MY 2000), it needs a bit of care (recoil spring and guide rod).

I'll go and post my questions were I'm supposed to.

PS : Sometimes I lack technical terms so may be a bit hard to get myself understood. I learn quick...

 Welcome to the forum! That should be an interesting 75 D Compact from 2000. I wonder if it has PCR on the slide. Please post photos in the Compact forum if you can.

What is PCR?

I can't post any pictures at the moment as the gun is at the shop.
The administration has yet to give me authorization to own the gun (but you are allowed to pay the gun immediatly!  ).

I do have the sellers pictures though. But not very nice quality.

This gun has been used by Previous Owner in "dynamic" shooting competitions and has a bit of scratchs and so. It's not like new looking. But as I'm going to do a shooters training supposed to be efficient in CCW conditions and or save your own life situations, I didn't want to spoil my brand new looking BD version.
Plus the BD is full size and full weight (the Compact is a sort of light weight stuff).
I have no other knowledge of my Compact's history before PO.

My CZ70 (MY 1971), I replaced the firing pin with Harringtons kit, polished the ramp and modified the front of the magazine so no more feeding problems and jams. First time I was "gunsmithing"...

Pardon. I forgot that the PCR name is used only in the North American market. It is known as the CZ 75 D Compact without the rail and with the alloy frame in the rest of the CZUB markets. Here's a photo of a 1999 manufacture when it did have MOD. PCR on the slide for Policie ?esk? Republiky.

Do I understand well : there are CZ75 D Compact with alloy frame and others with metal frames (heavier)?

Mine has the rail underneath. Not fond of that as I don't see the use for it. I'm not going to put a laser or a light on a gun supposed to be compact and concealable and light.

Yeah! Something to see with radiations emissivity.
I heard that even watch makers (see the Swiss neighbors) had to quit using it.

If you even knew what other stupidities Europe is looking for considering guns here...

I'm thinking of changing the recoil spring which has either been cut (to enhance shooting during IPSC competitions) or broken and the guide which has suffered a bit too (the springs seat is "bashed up" a little).


I'll post some questions on that matter in the appropriate section here.

BTW, the slide stop doesn't poke out too much on the right hand side and is sort of flush mounted. Pain in the neck to take it out.
Is it supposed to be like that?

Guessing you ride a Suzuki? The 1400 is probably a torque monster (sorry, off topic, I'm into bikes also).

Good morning! Some very nice "gun and leather porn" there. I like the look of the narrower decocker levers of the 90s on the BD and D Compacts. Your railed D Compact appears to have the features of many of the surplus D Compacts from that period of manufacture that have been brought into the States lately. I think I see a T-with-Circle proof mark on the barrel; the mounting slot on the rail is not fully cut through like on the newer models; it looks like there is a flat ledge in front of the sights above the slide serrations? Some of the older guns have the low profile rear sights with the front of that sight sitting on that ledge.
Here's a link to a recent forum discussion on different frames for the compact line of CZs. Note the photo for the third type for comparison with your D Compact. The P-01 name is also a marketing name in the US market for the railed D Compact like yours. Thanks for sharing with photos.
