Has anyone tried a primer tube filler like this?
« on: May 19, 2017, 03:40:21 PM »
https://www.amazon.com/Frankford-Arsenal-Automatic-Primer-Filler/dp/B00BQ6A3Y0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1495222680&sr=8-2&keywords=primer+tube+filler

Are they any good or just a waste of money?

Just looking for time savers since right now, time is of short supply.

If it goes "boom" or "vroom" I'm intersted.

No experience with it, but I have one on the way, there actually on sale at Cabelas. Seems  cumbersome refilling the tubes and can't be fun when you have carpal tunnel, so it'll be worth it fur me!

Had one and sold it after one use  because I can fill tubes manually just as fast. The guy I sold it to loves it! There are some tweaks online to make it work better and just about everyone agrees it works a lot better with small primers vs large.
Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

I just bought the Hornady version which is rumored to be better (slightly). I've heard it's very good if you have good luck. Otherwise you may need to do some modifications to make it work smoothly.

The guy I bought a press from just told me that the FA is a life saver combined with Dillon tubes.

I just purchased mine from Amazon for $39.99 with free shipping.  I haven't had a chance to use it yet.  I've seen the mixed reviews but thought I'd give it a try.

Once I get around to loading up some primer tubes I will post up my thoughts.

Cheers,
Toby

Yup.  Can be picky on the brand of primers FYI.

Mine works well. There's a good YouTube video on modifying your primer pickup tubes and filling them directly.

Mine works well, it's all in how you  hold it.

Mine works but I only use small pistol primers, there was a little bit of a learning curve.

Here is a link to the vid using your own filler tubes mentioned by  William_Broadus
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.

I love mine!  Works very well with CCI and S&B primers; Winchester? Not so much

Mine works well, and has for over 10 years.

There may be a slight difference in primer brand working better, but I cannot tell which one....every once In a while I get in a hurry.....and then things don't work as well.

Still way faster than manually filling tubes for me.

Great, I try to stay with Winchester primers. We'll see how it goes...
