Time for a slight update:  I took this beauty out shooting today and for once, only shot two pistols in this range session so that I could fully concentrate.  I'm sure it'll come as no surprise that it's a joy to shoot...the DA trigger is crisp and feels amazingly light.  SA - I learned exactly where the break was in short order, it felt precise, reset was apparent and easy to shoot from.  I don't know why I was surprised, but it smoothed out after the first 200 rounds.  I thought it was smooth and needed nothing but when it did smooth out I noticed it.  The RO and my brother asked a lot of questions and the RO came over and asked me to show it to a young lady who was shooting a 75B a few stalls away (and she was NO slouch!).  I was having so much fun and getting to learn the pistol that I neglected to take pics of my targets but I will shoot it again within the next few days and update again.  I mainly shot it with my 124gr FMJ reloads but it was almost as soft shooting with 115gr Herter's ammo.  I have to load some more so that I can head back out tomorrow or Monday...  The pics were from after the range, so she's not polished up anymore...  SP01 Shadow - this is the pistol I'm proudest to own.  Really - THANK YOU for your tremendous work.

I got them from Klinsky, in the Czech Republic. They are very comfortable, though chunkier than I expected. The grip they afford is perfect for my hands.

I am now a fan of their grips. The pics don't truly capture how nice they are.

That entire restoration process was absolutely amazing!

I'm buying a 75D Israeli import tomorrow that isn't quite as rough as what you started with.  I'm planning on going through it but after reading this entire post, I may have to go a little deeper on the finish.

I'll start with the mechanics but a refinish may be in order.

That thing turned out absolutely beautiful!  You say anyone can do it.  I disagree.  Many may have the talent or know how but few have the patience and focus to do something at this level.

Don't sell yourself short.  You have a real talent.  I work for a company that manufactures surgical instruments and we have several finishers that have been with us for 40+ years.  You have a good eye and can see the 'lines' that many can't.
My hat's off to you.

Thank you so much for sharing!  That's just awesome.

If you don't mind sharing, what did/would you charge for this specific job??

If you buy all new internal springs, the Pro Package, new sear and the 10X bushing with sights you are looking at roughly $460.00 in parts.

Thanks for the reply Shadow!  It was more a question of curiosity than anything since I'm a tinkerer and like to do my own work as well.  Mine is not at the level of yours but it may be a good winter project for me.

SP01SHADOW, I've said it before but you do some amazing work. Personally I think your restoration projects are/will be legendary.

Indeed, he is a master. I meant to post this weeks ago, but now is a good time. I went shooting last night and now have 375 rounds through it. I love letting people shoot this pistol. They all walk away wanting one.

The target is only from 15 feet but I practice at what for me is a self defense distance, with 2 mags full. My first magazine was amazing; I had one flyer and kept everything in an ever growing hole, slow and deliberate. The second mag, I shot faster and got cocky, feeling like I couldn't miss. LOL

The RO came over and asked what I was shooting, I showed him. He looked it over, put it down and walked away, shaking his head. He came back a few minutes later and said, "I HAVE to shoot that!". Of course I let him. He shot 3 shots in the upper left corner. He's an amazing shooter. He gave it back and said "Don't ever sell this gun! I'm serious!"

This gun is going nowhere, ever.
