P10C guide rod assembly and installation
« on: May 30, 2017, 07:27:09 PM »
Is it just my old eyes getting worse or is that half moon on the barrel for reassembly guidance of the RSA really small? The ONLY thing I can see on this gun so far as a negative is that plastic guide rod. Has anyone shot enough to see any wear/damage to one of these yet? Just seems like that the way it sits when the gun is being cycled and how it returns to the lug when it is disassembled. it could wear the head of that plastic rod pretty quickly. just for disassembly/reassembly a few times for practice i notice it getting nicked up already. Anyone know if CZ is selling parts for these yet? wouldn't mind having a spare. Probably just my OCD but it is what it is...LOL

Just for kicks I put a Glock 17 stainless steel guide rod in, and it fit like it was meant to be. Gen 3. Not that it matters, just some info for ya. So I would imagine a Gen 3 19 guide would fit as well, just had the 17 on the nightstand so that's what I tried. I was so amazed at how well it fit I went to Amazon and put a Gen 3 19 stainless with a bit heavier spring on my cart.. Lol

hmmmm. now i am gonna have to look at my springs to see if i have any. did the gen 3 19 and 17 use the same spring? i had thought the 17 spring was longer.

just tried a gen 3 19 assembly and it is too short. might want to change that order to a 17 assembly ;-)

Man, I swear I am seeing some photos of barrels that don't have this extremely tiny half moon. I am losing my mind or is that the case? it is almost impossible for me to get that to sit perfectly in such a little slot. Plus every single video I have seen they are just putting the RSA in that very first lip. Can someone confirm the correct way to reassemble this?

Changed order, thanks again.  odd seems how the p10 was from what I understand designed to go after the 19, size as well.

Factory spring. 17 stainless spring. Hope this helps.
Is that a G17 rod and spring? I have a tungsten rod in my g19 and would love to put one in my P10!

It's a Gen 3 stainless 17 spring in my p10. Fits better than factory 👍

I can't figure out how or don't have the permission to post any photos. are you guys putting the end of the guide rod just on the first lip or the 2nd lip where that very tiny half moon is?

BTW, I'm 48 and I can't see it that well either, so no, it's not your wiser eyes, it's tiny like a woman's thought process 👍😝

Best way to install is to put it all the way in.. He he he... Then slide it up until you hear the click, then you're G2G👍💯

Like I said, but in reality after the slide is mated with the frame and you rack it one time, it will find it's place as well. 👍
