SAR K2 45 ACP Wood Grips
« on: June 18, 2017, 05:19:33 PM »
Anyone have the guys name and email for the wood grips for SAR K2 45ACP. I lost it and he has none listed on Amazon.

I've gone through 3 replacement sets of the original plastic ones and I'm tired of this! Mount a new set and they crack around the upper screw holes.

Are you referring to the ones sold by KSD on Amazon?

It doesn't appear they are available on Amazon any longer, but KSD does have their own website and has 4 grip panel varieties for the K2-45 now, albeit a bit more expensive.  I think they were 59 when they were on Amazon.

Something else you may want to consider, if you're main concern is the grips cracking, is checking out Tillander gun grips.  He makes his grips out of a resin, that is pretty durable.  I have a couple pairs of the ones for the K2-45 (he sent them to me free because I sent him my K2-45 grip panels for him to mold from) and they have been great.  He mostly sells on Ebay and Gunjoker, but you can also email him from his website for custom colors and such.

Here's a set similar on Ebay to the ones I like the most:

For comparison sake, here are some pics of the different grips.

KSD:

Tillander, note: the ones he sells now don't have the SAR logo:

Thanks guys. I'll check them both out. I would rather the KSD because it has the logo. Too bad the Tillander don't have the logo anymore but the idea of resin seems much better in terms of cracking.

Because they are for a pistol produced by a Czech firearms manufacturer named Kevin.

How does that relate to the topic at hand?

The looks of those wood grips are really growing on me.  I think I'll order a pair of them and give them a try.

Those grips are beautiful.

They really pop and give it a little old world charm.

The first thing I do is get rid of the plastic grips and go to wood.   Enough black, the wood makes them look so much better.

I think wood grips make any handgun look so much better.   For instance my two Rugars, Sig P220 and K2 came with black plastic grips.   I just love the way wood looks.

Sorry for no pictures:   Photobleepet is acting up.    I ned to find a new place to store my pictures.
