What to do - PCR or P-10
« on: July 19, 2017, 06:11:04 PM »
I own a Cajunized PCR and it is a sweet shooter, but not for me. I am not near as accurate with DA/SA pistol as I am with striker fired ones. It's just the trigger action and not the gun.

I'm not sure what I am expecting here but I am struggling with either selling the PCR and buying P-10 or toughing it out with the PCR. I think I really prefer to consistent trigger pull off a striker fire pistol but love the feel of the PCR and its           4.2 DA / 3.0 SA.

Any thoughts of wisdom is appreciated.

We all have our preferences. I would never give up my PCR for anything else. Best all around handgun I've ever owned. I've practiced extensively and the DA 1st shot is no issue now after that the pull is as consistent as any gun out there.
To be honest other than some 1911's I've never owned a semi auto that I kept that wasn't DA/SA. The platform just works for me.
If you aren't happy with it or want to go another direction then that is what you should do. Do what works best for you.

Have a stock PCR w/ over a thousand rounds thru it and one of my favorite shooters.  However my recently purchased Walther PPS equals it in getting on target quickly and accuracy up to seven yards.
The triggers of striker fired pistols have gotten much better over the last couple of years.  Had the opportunity to buy a P-10, but it didn't pull my trigger, so i passed.  I like my carry weapon(IWB) on the smaller side which is why I went w/ the Walther.  Rent a couple different polymers at a range and see what pulls your trigger.........

However, when I purchased my Walther, I couldn't resist the BD sitting in the case.

DA definitely takes practice. I'm still working on mine a lot, but I've seen improvement over the past few months with dryfire. I can understand wanting to go with a P10C for striker fired consistency. I'm thinking the same as a HD gun since I know I can hit that first shot for sure.

To be honest, you need to be comfortable with your gun, if not sell it and get what you are comfortable with. If it's a striker gun, so be it.

That said, the da/sa trigger can be mastered, it only takes some training/ consistent effort. I know as I pushed myself with mastering a DA revolver, shooting it IDPA and uspsa matches. While initially a less than stellar performer at matches, I got better and actually prefer the da trigger.

Good luck ( love my P01 &P09)

You need to PRACTICE! You are your own worst enemy right now, it is not the gun.

That PCR is calling MY name..........

I like hammers and heavy metal and the gun has the CGW treatment on top of that............... yeah I'd keep it. If I were you I would hang on to the PCR and find another way to finance the P-10......

Thanks for all of the advise. I'm inclined to practice more and maybe buy a P-10 when CGW has one already customized.

Haven't shot my P10 yet, but can tell I already prefer my hammer pistols. That being said, carry what you shoot best, and the one you're most confident with. Only you, can make that choice.
