Possible 805 newbie
« on: August 02, 2017, 08:33:49 PM »
I am looking at trading my SIG MCX for a low round count 16" black 805.
Anything I should look for as I inspect it?
I'll miss the lightweight, but am excited to into such an interesting rifle.
Also, I'm a lefty and shoot suppressed. Any issues?

Shell ejection can't be change, but the shell deflector does a great job throwing the emptied up front. The charging handle can be swapped from left to right, which is what I did for AK style operation. :) Mag release and safety are completely ambidextrous.
Trading from a SIG to a BREN is a trade up in my book. ;) As for suppressed, I think there was some changes on the barrel threads for the flash suppressor, so I really can't tell you what pitch and count they are. I am reasonably certain there are some adapters out there to run normal thread 'cans, check with Manticore or CZ Custom.
Good move!

You won't regret getting a BREN 805.   I am pretty sure, someone correct me if I am wrong ---- but the current BREN pistol and rifle both have 1/2x28 RH threads on the muzzle (same as an AR-15).   The early pistols were 14x1 LH threads.
