First CZ

Hello, so yesterday after checking out several CZ's and many suggestions from other CZ owners, I finally put a deposit on one. So here she is, CZ 75 D Custom

Congrats, first of many I'm sure!

I'm guessing that, in the OP's excitement (and who wouldn't be excited with a new CZ?), the word "custom" was inadvertently substituted for "compact."

Marh415, the CZ 75D Compact is a great choice.  I have one, and we spend a lot of time together - my plan is to transition it to become my EDC.  A word of caution - this is a very hungry little gun, plan on feeding it a lot.  And, you will more than likely have a goofy grin on your face each and every time you shoot it.  What a wonderful feeling.  Enjoy.

Yeah I think he meant compact too. It is a great gun. I have carried one for a few winters and like it a lot
Congrats on the new weapon! shot it, enjoy it, you will more then likely have this one for a very long time.

How is that one different than a PCR? It looks the same as my PCR, except for not saying PCR on the slide.

As others have said, welcome to the ADDICTION.

BTW, it will take about 500 rounds for it to fully smooth out, particularly the trigger. All of my CZ, including my alleged "perfect out of the box" P10C were like that. It will be a completely different pistol around 500 rounds. Until then, lube liberally.

Im not positive, but I believe his CZ has a steel frame, and your PCR is alum. alloy.  Much like my 75 Compact is just like the P-01, except mine has a steel frame and the P-01 is alum. alloy.

First of all, congrats on a very nice acquisition, mahr415. It looks like a current production PCR with the standard alloy frame and 75 D Compact marking on the slide. The PCRs haven't been roll marked as "PCR" (on the right side of the slide) since the early models from around 1999.

Well now that I look, mine only says 75D.

lebomb, see the step in the frame right above the top of the grip panel, that indicates an alloy frame. The steel guns don have that.
