Inherited CZ 27 from WW2
« on: August 15, 2017, 11:11:31 PM »
Hopefully this is the correct sub-forum

I just inherited a CZ fnh Pistole Modell 27 Kal. 7.65 serial 471277.  It was taken in Germany near Berlin at the end of the war.  Is there any way that I can get more information on it?

thanks,

Chip

With 471 serial number  I believe this pistol was one of last produce  ....late 1944 early 1945 under the German occupation.   Will verify once I look at my reference books etc I have on serial numbers build dates.

I would love to see a pic so we can assess it's condition. It's great to see old weapons in real condition not some museum piece.

It looks like it would be a very late war pistol. Here is some information "Czech Pistols" by Berger
Serial numbers 1-20,499 prewar and early war, up to early 1941.

Starting with serial number 20,500 all pistols diverted to German war effort (early 1941) and that year reached serial number 42,000

In 1942 almost 100,000 pistol were produced

In 1943 almost 200,000 were produced

In 1944 about 77,000 were made

In 1945 about 23,000 were made up to the end of the war. The last serial number produced during the war was 473,000

Post war production resumed and continued to slightly over 620,000 in all.
