Flooding down in Texas
« on: August 27, 2017, 10:00:37 AM »
Woke up to this when I looked out of the garage. We still have power and looks like the rain has slowed for a bit. I doubt I'll be getting out of the house for a couple of days. My SUV is at the storage garage with our trailer, not going to try to drive out in the Passat or Jetta. Looking at the local news, I'm very grateful we are still dry. Some neighborhoods are under several feet of water.

Reporting from western Spring Branch in Houston, Texas.  Our street has about twice what your picture shows in depth and is impassable.

I'm in Tomball near 249 and 99 the Grand Parkway. Please be safe and careful, spotted a couple of Copperheads swimming for higher ground. I found a Gopher Snake and a bunch of small lizards in the raised garden at the front of the house.

Our prayers (and the prayers of everyone in our church here in Jackson, MS) are going out to you.  Our school has also been praying for everyone touched by this.

Cypress Rosehill flood gauge is trending down (north west  of Houston) ...water levels still high i.e. close or at houses. Big problems to come south and east as water flows to coast AND Army engineers opened Addicks dam in the early hours of the morning. We'll be glad to see the back of Harvey!
