CZ Czechmate Parrot
« on: August 28, 2017, 09:08:19 PM »
So I just purchased a Czechmate Parrot and after showing some friends I am getting split feedback on shooting it.
Realizing a NIB unfixed gun has more value then even a lightly used one, what is the general consensus on this please.
I'm not opposed to making it a display gun, just unsure what using it gently would do the the long term value of this collectible pistol.
Thanks for any input.

Since it shoots the exactly same as any Czechmate, I'd put the Parrot in the safe and just shoot the plain black Czechmate.

Nice to see these coming back to the market.  Did you get the 20 lpi TSO-style strap checkering or the old Tactical Sport style?

I wouldn't shoot it either. It's like the S2 anniversary edition. Gorgeous gun, but it's a safe queen.

Glad to hear all that.  I may build a case for it as it is really a special looking pistol.

As for beanz question, I am not sure.

How would i tell the difference?

Thanks

Count the number of lines per inch :P But that looks like 20 LPI to me?

Besides the grip, what are the fundamental differences in the two guns please?

Thanks

TSO checkering is much tighter than that.  That's original TS checkering style.

Very cool gun!  My LGS is a CZ dealer and mentioned he has a Parrot on the way to him too.

He's got a black Czechmate that he will be doing a "fire sale" on, so expecting he'll put that on GB for right around dealer cost if anyone is interested!

Thanks interesting.  PM me the store info please.

I just bought a black one for $3300 to my FFL, and i think that was an OK price.

What do you guys think?

Right now prices for Czechmates are up since they usually sell out fast and are now lower in stock. Bought a 2016 model a few months back around March for $2750 from Technet armory though if that helps.
Parrots, even though have recently popped up, are RARE CZ's and even more rare in the states!
Unfortunately, even though I personally shoot all my guns, THAT my friend is one of a very VERY few; so I agree with beanz2 and SlvrDragon50. Treat it well and admire the rare bird! Congrats!

That's beautiful.
I couldn't own it without shooting it at least once - but I'm goofy tht way.

Thanks for helping out my LGS, he's a good guy.  He's been sitting on that for a while and keeps trying to sell it to me since he knows I shoot competitively and often!

I wouldn't shoot it, if I had it. But I don't buy guns to collect them.
Looks like a collector's item to me. Better off BNIB, unfired. If you
can afford, and have proper storage for that kind of thing.
