Buying a used p07
« on: August 29, 2017, 12:05:00 AM »
So I have been renting a p09 at my local range frequently.    I love shooting it and decided that I need one of these guns.  They don't have a 9mm p07.

I like the overall size of the p07 and found a used gen 2 model for sale locally.   I'm supposed to look at it tomorrow.
Is there anything specific I should be looking for??   I've bought plenty of used guns before,  but this will be the first da/sa pistol for me.
Thanks!!

Whats the price, what will you be getting with it and do you know more or less how much its been shot. Like Sikiguya said mags is well expensive. Paid almost R500 the other day for a 15 round mag. 17 rounders is scares for a decent price.

I bought a used P-07 a couple of years ago.

The previous owner had replaced the plastic guide rod with a stainless steel one and also replaced the recoil spring.  I know this as it original parts were provided with it in a plastic bag.

Mine is chambered in .40 S&W, but seems to shoot sweet and haven't had any problems with it.

As with any used weapon, use a flashlight and check out the bore.  That should give you a good indication of how many rounds might have gone through it and how well the previous owner cleaned and took care of it.

Besides that, just a basic visual and mechanical function check.

Price is important. They can be had new these days for under 450.00 so factor that. The gun should come with it's original case and 2 magazines, any more mags would be a bonus if the price is right. How many rounds the gun has fired could be a factor if it's a high count but if the gun is in nice condition it's hard to know how many rounds have been fired unless they actually have that info. My personal gen 2 P-07 has a bit over 8500 fired now and I could tell you it's only 100 and you couldn't prove otherwise. The way the gun was maintained will be obvious.

iAmmo has the P-07 for $389 if you use the discount code 'CZ30'

https://www.iammo.com/cz-75-p-07-9mm-15-round-3-8-pistol-in-black-compact-91086.html

:)

I'm always leery of buying guns someone else may have 'overly' tinkered with. The only reason I would consider buying used now days is if the gun came with extras that made it extremely attractive financially. Extra mags, aftermarket sights, CGW upgrades...

Thanks for all the replies and information.

It will include the original box and goodies plus a third magazine.   We have worked out a trade for a gun that I don't care to keep any longer.

As long as you are satisfied with the deal and the gun has no underlying issues that is all that matters. Hope you enjoy the P-07.
