ABYSS1232 Has the best video on what your looking for  on U-Tube

I agree 100%. After watching his series on him upgrading his own SP-01 Tact convinced me to do my own. What I particularly like about his videos he explains everything in detail. I think he has 5 videos in his series. I have watched them in their entirety at least half a dozen times.

What tools do I need for polishing?

We/Dry sand paper and something flat to rap it around to maintain a flat surface when needed. A dremel with a felt polishing wheel and some metal polish. I use Mothers mag and aluminum polish, allot of folks like Flitz as well.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Thanks. Something like a popsicle stick? Any other recommendations?

Also, can you recommend an affordable but quality dremel?

Though i have never tried a popsicle stick i assume that it would work. I tend to use what ever is handy. I my case this is usually a small peace of thin scrap metal rigid enough to hold its shape when used. I also use a HYDE Flexible Putty Knife in some cases (link below). This is just what i have handy and works for me, anything rigid that you can wrap the sand paper around should do the job fine.

I only have experience with the Dremel brand dremels. I own two of them now, one small battery powered and a larger plug in type. They are my most useful tools. I use them almost every day for something but i tinker allot.

Maybe some of the other forum members have more input on other dremel type options. I would be interested to hear as well if they do.

Thanks to all the contributors in this thread.....
I'll be jumping into some polishing of parts on my new SP-01 Tactical myself.

Now where did I put all that 1000 grit paper?

Well, I spent some time this morning polishing all of the require components.....
That decocker sear was a PITA the first 5 times I tried assembling it.
Now that I figured out that the lower pin that holds the hammer spring assembly in the bottom of the grip is a perfect slave pin for the sear - the NEXT time will be a piece of cake!

Just to follow up.
Just polishing the required components didn't quite get this weapon to where I wanted it.....

So this afternoon I went over to talk to the good folks at CZ custom, and walked out with a new hammer, hammer spring, recoil spring and replacement trigger pin.  This is a carry gun and not a range toy or target pistol/race gun, so it's got to remain +P ammo capable and reliable - but after installing these new parts - NOW it's where it needs to be.

SMOOTH SMOOTH SMOOTH.
The entire thing is as smooth as silk.
The DA pull is quite a bit less than it was stock.
The SA trigger now breaks crisply, and is a good bit lighter and smoother than it was stock, but not crazy light like a race gun either.
As I said, it's a carry gun - so I didn't get carried away - even though I wanted to! hahaha
Nothing crazy, but very nice.

The trigger and trigger spring is stock.
The recoil spring is #14.
The hammer spring is #15.

Sorry old friend the P85 Ruger, after carrying you around for 30 years - it's time to retire you.
I've got a nice, modern replacement for the old tank.

It's more like "take it with me" daily.
It rides to and from work between me and the console.
Then at work - it sits in the top drawer of my tool box.
Same thing for road trips.
I open carry in the desert.

For concealed carry - I use either my Springfield XD-E or my Sig P290RS.

OK so after some research, I have filled my cart at CGW with about $100 worth of upgrades and spare springs. Can anyone tell me if this list looks good?

2. HS-15 Hammer Spring
3. RP-FPS Reduced Power Firing Pin Spring
4. SS-Lube Moly Grease
5. 8 Trigger Return Spring
6. 12 Sear Spring
7. L-Spring Lifter Spring
8. 61050 Extended Firing Pin
9. INST-DC Decocker Installation Kit
10. 61100 Firing Pin Retaining Pin
11. RP-TRS Reduced Power Trigger Return Spring
12. S-pin Decocker Slave Pin
13. TR-PIN Floating Trigger Pin
14. 4 Slide Stop Spring Retention Pin
15. 3NS Slide Stop Spring New Style

Am I missing anything? Thank you!

@myczaccount- the 10x barrel bushing will improve accuracy/groups a bit.  If you decide the purchase it, get the front site pin as it will need to be removed when replacing the bushing.
