Manticore magazine drop free question
« on: September 02, 2017, 10:52:31 PM »
Will the Manticore MA-17200-CLR magazine drop free when the bolt is held back by the slide release?

None of my OEM Scorpion magazines will drop free in this condition. They will drop free with the bolt closed or bolt locked fully back with the charging handle.

Half of the Beta tester magazines I have will drop free, the others won't, and I was told the new ones will drop free...but I don't have any and can't confirm that.

Thank you. The information I wanted before placing an order.

EDIT: That was until I saw Prepper Gun Shop's Standard - $11.99 shipping rate. Still looking.

Do you have a code OR is the standard shipping $23.98 and $11.99 is half price?

Ha, ha, just had to add that.

Seriously, thank you.

Got half price shipping by calculating the shipping first.

Then use LABORDAYHALFSHIP in the coupon code

Thanks

Looks like you beat me to leaving a reply.  ;D

I ordered a couple of them myself.

I was tempted to buy a bunch of 30rd ones from CZ since they have 25% off (15 each) with that scorp25 code.  But, i plan to keep my mags loaded long term and I worry about the plastic feed lips having problems... i also like that +2 on the manticore.  Just paying double for extra capacity and a little peice of mind is tough.

My clear Manticore magazine arrived today. Very nice design.

BUT, it drops free just like my OEM 20 and fitted OEM 30's

Bolt closed, empty mag - Drops free fine

Bolt locked to the rear with the charging handle, empty mag - Drops free fine

Bolt locked using the slide release, empty mag - Mag stays in the mag well

Drop free is not the only reason I wanted this mag. I wanted the extra 2 rounds for USPSA PCC stages.

I'm still a happy camper.

Looking forward to your post.

FWIW, my Scorpion is a 2017 Carbine with non welded trigger pack screw.

Just got my 2 clears today...they drop free fine except when the bolt is locked back by the bolt catch. However, it doesn't take much effort to pull them out. Not a big deal if you ask me...with the HBi duckbill I find myself grabbing and pulling the mags no matter what anyways.

Nice mags though...wish I would have ordered them a while ago.

As for shipping...ordered mine through Yeti. $5 1st class and they got here super fast! Got a fresh Yeti sticker too with the new Kryptek looking background...gonna save that one for the new locker at work when we move buildings.  8)
