I bought the very last 99021 I could find anywhere

I had been looking for the steel frame version of the P-01, and I literally bought the very last one I could find anywhere. For now I am going to put a few hundred rounds through it and then send it to CZ Custom for some work to make it better. What I have done immediately was to put some VZ grips on it.

The target that came with it was pretty good.  I will post a pic of both later tonight.

Here is the newest CZ. It was made last year, and somehow it was not bought before I could get to it. The group CZ shot with it appears to be a pretty good one. I might get to go to the range tomorrow and see if I can duplicate the performance.

You won't be dissapointed, these things are tack drivers! They do take modifications well.I had some work done on mine by CGW, and it turned out very well.

Totally agree - you made a great choice and won't be disappointed.

Several months ago I thought that *I* had missed the boat on the elusive 99021, lucked out and found a small supply at K-Var.  my only regret is that I did not act quickly enough to get a second.

In any case, I surely have enjoyed mine.

I took it out today and put 300 rounds through it without a missed beat. The trigger is heavier than I had hoped, but it doesn't matter. I am sending it off to get a massage.

I do love this thing, though. I love all of my CZs, because CZ is the most consistently excellent line of pistols I have ever seen.

I called CZ today to learn what the exact name is for this pistol. It is the "CZ 75 Compact with Rail". We both agreed that the "CZ SP-01 Compact" is a little closer to the mark.

He told me that 1,400 were made and they were meant for a foreign market. That sale fell through and I benefited.

Nice! We have confirmation of the amount they brought in. Had guessed at 1,600.

The only reason I need to wait another 2 weeks is that NJ only allows purchase of 1 handgun every 30 days and I just got the SP-01 Tactical on 8/26 then 2 days later found the 99021 here on the forum from someone who just so happens to be from NJ as well.

Come 9/25, it'll be mine!
