I almost never go to the range with less then 300 rounds. I do not always shoot them all but 300 is a good amount if no one else is there and I am practicing.
If I am testing loads I usually go with 30 or so but that's a different story.

I love to shoot and when I am shooting I hate to stop. It makes 300 a pretty good number. If I set up El Pes thats only 25 times practicing. or  like only 250 seconds of shooting. When I practing my reloads, I shoot less bullets ........or I stay longer.

........Its that you shoot!

I can shoot one hole groups as long as I only shoot once!

Is a "box of 22"....50 rounds, 100 rounds, 200 rounds, 333 rounds, 500 rounds, 525 rounds, 550 rounds, 1000 rounds, etc.

I prefer the 550 round boxes myself and they still go way to quickly!

I try to shoot at least once a week - I'm lucky - in my back yard.

By myself at least 400 rounds - with my son or Dad, at least 600 rounds total.  Mostly 9mm or 22LR.  Sometimes I'll add in the 40 or the 45.

If prepping for a match I'd shoot more and testing loads would be less.

Some trust in chassis, Some in Horsepower, But we trust in the Lord our God.

If it goes "boom" or "vroom" I'm intersted.

Today I took only 200 rounds - and it felt like I ran out of ammo before I even got warmed up good.  I was having SO MUCH FUN with my new 75 SP-01 Tac with it's new polish job and springs that I didn't want to stop!  I knew that would be the case - so I purposely limited myself to make me slow down and savor the experience.  Man, this things shoots mozambique drills like butter!!!!!

Usually I shoot 300-400 handgun rounds per trip to the indoor range, but it's usually spread over 2 or 3 different weapons.  If we go to the desert where we are there for 3 or 4 hours - the count goes up because we are shooting rifles also, but luckily thanks to all the walking out to the rifle targets and back - that usually means I'm only shooting 250-300 of handgun.  Usually about the same number of rifle rounds too, just spread over a few different calibers.  I've been trying to cut back lately because I have been know to over-do it, and I DO go every saturday morning.  That whole part where ammo isn't free factors into it also! hehehe  I need more time for reloading and more reloading materials!

How many rounds do you guys expend during each trip to the range?
And how often do you guys go to the range - whether indoors or outdoors?
Just handguns?
Or rifles too?
Am I overdoing it?

I average 2x's per week on my own; sometimes 3 when I go to my agencies range.

As for round count with pistol; unless Im breaking in a new gun, its 4ish mags. So right around >100 rounds but I run drills not just mag dumps so to speak and its while Im chronoing revolver ammo that I hand load
