Shadow2 - keeping the blue alu grip, but somehow enlarge it?

Hey CZ lovers

got a Shadow2 with beautiful blue alu grips, but it seems,  it's a bit too small for my hand and that's definitely makes my shooting sometimes a challenge, as I can't have a firm grip for my support hand

I would love to keep somehow these  great feeling/looking grips, but at the same time would be nice to make it wider and thicker, to fit my hands properly. I already was in contact with a local guy (I'm from Europe) who makes normally great wooden grips and he custom made for me sg really unique, he inserted a 2mm (~0,8 inch) soft  material, fitting into  the frame, under the alu grip - it imporved the situation clearly, made it slightly wider, but it still not enough   a thicker material might endanger the stability of the alu  grip on the other hand, also it would mean a challenge for the screw to keep it stable during shooting.


Worst case scenario, I will will go  probably for Hogue rubber grip, which I think have the thickness - but than the blue beauty and this special  character is gone

   I'm thinking of cutting some .060" or .080" kydex as a spacer to fit behind the grips on my S2. I like the stock grips, but need more thickness too.

 I know You are in Europe, but these REALLY work...the LOK grips, their palm swell model.

These guys are completely new for me,  no info  on their side neither, where they're from ... any experience with them?

Also, even  their thick  grip is claimed to be 4 mm wider, would be great to check somehow, how it feels in my hand, before buying sg for 90$/? - I'm not sure how well and fast delivery works and if they accept sent back  item?

I had a word  with a dentist and he offered me that from  dental  gelatine  he can  custom made a fitter - which would then  perfectly fit to the frame. Here the question  was also, how to make a precise cut from the upper part? Any idea?

No experience with ordering from that site but look up Robert Cernogoj Cesar on a web search. From Slovenia.

I have a set of their 4 mm thicker grips - a friend of mine purchased a set of all the variants to try on a Shadow 2 (thick and thin), she settled on the thin set, as she has smaller sized hands, and I ended up with the thicker set.  I have quite large hands and shoot a SP01 Shadow Australian (special IPSC edition to suit Australian club gun regulations) and with the standard grips, although I have become accustomed to them, have found slightly thin for me.  They fit perfectly on the SP-01 or Shadow 2, in fact, I was very impressed with the sharp fillet on the front edge of the grip that replicates the factory supplied (aluminium) grips, so they screw down tight.  With these new grips (I have one of a few proto sets anodised in black, which will be available soon, I am told) the gun feels a lot more suited to my hand size.  So much so, I need to do some drills to re-train a bit because it feels like a different gun.  The circular machined grip surface is very grippy too - in fact, on the day I tried them in a club IPSC comp, it was very wet day (we even got caught in a brief rain shower during a stage) and the grips were very stable in those conditions, too.

I would highly recommend them - my friend received them in a few days (to Australia from Slovenia) no problem at all.

I got a pair of the LOK palm swell checkered grips in blue/black color. Look and feel great. Much better than the thin factory grips.

  You can get kydex or boltaron in .060", .080" and .093" . Easily cut with a razor knife. Score it fairly deep with 2 or 3 strokes using a rule as a guide. BEND it gently and it will break along the score line.  Easily cut with sandpaper, a dremel tool with  sanding drum , sander or even a file.
