EAA Witness P.....Any good?
« on: September 19, 2017, 08:51:02 PM »
My LGS has a barely used EAA Witness P in his case. Has one mag and box.  Picked it up and fondled it today.  Feels good in the hand.  Accepts and locks back on full size CZ 75 mags.  Only thing I saw wrong with it was the sights.  Front is non-replaceable and the rear notch is small.

Will this accept a CZ factory rear or is the dovetail different?

Any good or bad opinions of this gun?

I had one and found it to be decent but I didn't like the finger grooves in the trigger and the thin slide which made it harder to rack than most. Still, for the price, around 300 or so, it's a good value.

I have four of them, one full size in black, full size in fde, carry model in grey and a compact that uses the larger mags.  I also have a 22 conversion kit the the first three.  The two full size are very accurate in 9mm and with the conversion kit.  I am not sure the compact will be as reliable because of the 9mm in the larger mags.  I have not fired the carry model enough to know how accurate it will be.  I think for the price they are one of the best buys on the market.

Viking, what is the price?  Does the slide stick out beyond the frame or do the frame and slide end at the same point?

That price is OK for a used gun, but I wouldn't pay that unless it was virtually new with no blemishes.

The best price I can see on these new right now is $265 delivered (plus your dealer's transfer fee).

You can also get the SAR B6P for about $265 delivered.  It's very similar, but looks a little better in my opinion.

If you're interested in the steel framed version, they can generally be found in the low to middle $300 range.

I have a SAR B6P and like it quite a bit. The SA trigger is nice and light, although not as crisp as I would like. However I haven't done anything to it beyond clean it and shoot it, so there may be some room for improvement. My CZs are definitely nicer guns, but for the price ($240) I'm certainly not disappointed.

LPA sights are nice. I put a set on my CZ75 SA.

Lots of options there.
