How to mount globe sight on 452 super match?
« on: September 27, 2017, 10:56:00 AM »
I'm looking for a way to mount a globe front sight on a 452 super match.  It has a tapered barrel (same barrel as 452 standard except for the grooving).

So, for this tapered barrel w/out any dovetail slot...are there any barrel bands or clamp on mounts??

These would work well if I had a straight barrel, http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.aspx?p=ItemDetailOptions&item=CC812A

I'm hoping to not have to have the barrel machined, but I can't find any options so far.  I'm hoping you guys can help.

Thanks

What type of Globe sight do you have?

BRNO makes a set of sights that work on the 452 series guns, but they are kind of hard to find.

This guy here should be able to get you set up with what you need......

I don't think jojo offers the adapter for either the front or receiver sight.

I could be mistaken.
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

Thank you for the replies...that's some useful info I hadn't seen yet.

The cz452 XII super match, like the cz 452 standard has a tapered barrel w/ a ramp sight.  The front sight ramp has one mounting screw holding it to the barrel...no dovetail.

Both of the links posted show globe sights w/ dovetail mounts. This still leaves my original question...is there a mounting adapter I can use to mount these sights (any dovetail sight) without machining a groove into the barrel (as this rifle does not have any dovetail groove)?

Here are some shots of the muzzle and front sight:

The 452 Supermatch has a ramp similar to the 455. the 452 was entirely different. Denny, the gent that previously imported the Brno match sights into the US, never offered an adapter for the 455.

If you want to use the Brno sights you'd likely have to get a machinist to make you a screw on adapter to replace the screw on ramp.

You could get a Williams short ramp with a 3/8 dovetail.  Screw it on with the metric CZ screws.  Then use a Williams or Lyman globe.
