Just bought a Rami. Wow
« on: October 21, 2017, 11:08:33 PM »
My LGS had its first Rami in a year.  Glad I was 1st to heat about it   8)

Had a deposit for the next PCR to come in. After 3 weeks owner said no PCR but just received the Rami

Perfect CZ ergonomics, a masterpiece. A trip to the range with 150 rounds confirmed CZ accuracy and reliability.  Sights are functional but will look to upgrade later, my order eyes can use some help.

Sadly my Kadet did not fit. Magwell was to small.

That nice chunky piece feels a lot better in my hand that my Shield   :)

Cooler weather should allow carry options of the chunky beast

I feel ya. It's chunky but it felt so much better than any of the cheap or affordable single stack CCW pistols.

Congrats on the new RAMI.  That extra width up at the tang really adds to their shootability, I wish CZ still offered that in a steel framed full sized gun.

Sadly my Kadet did not fit. Magwell was to small.
Not quite sure what you mean by this, maybe a photo might help.

The Kadet II slide is too long for the RAMI, so it hangs off the front.  Many still function ok that way, just not perfect.

The mag that comes with the Kadet kit is sized like the full size 75 series mags and will stick out beyond the bottom of the mag wells of compact and rami models. Again, many still function ok that way.

Beside those mostly aesthetic issues, are you experiencing other problems?

ETA:  In reference to the Kadet II kit.  Earlier versions also need the RAMI to have a modified/narrow hammer.

The Kadet lower barrel lug it to wide and does not fully slide into the frame.
Would filing it down still allow the Kadet to work on my other CZ's

Ahhh... ok.

I have seen that going between other models as well, my SP01 is like that.

The barrel being in their snug helps with overall function and accuracy, I would tend to not take material off the lug of the Kadet if it fits your other models well.

Have you taken good measurements of both barrel lug and frame?  Can a good polishing of both work, or does a lot of material need to be removed?

FYI, unless something has changed, the Rami hammer is too wide for the Kadet. Those that use the Kadet on their Rami have an after market hammer.

Sorry, I was assuming Kadet II which works with the wide hammer.

Which kit are you working with?

Actually partially my bad also. I had a temporary brain fart, forgot that the slot is wider on the Kadet 2. Was thinking the hammer was the reason mine wouldn?t fit.
Mine won?t fit for the same reason as the OP?s.

Have you looked at measurements at all?  In my SP01, it felt like a real solid barrier to installing the kit, but wound up being ~ 0.001".  The surfaces on the SP01 still showed a lot of tool marks, so a no brainer to polish the frame rather than the kit.

Thanks for all the feedback.  I have not done any measurements.  Can do in a couple of days because of my work schedule.

Polishing the frame may be the answer.  When I vertically drop the lug into the frame I can force fit it in place. But no movement when sliding it horizontally. So maybe it is a couple of tool marks.

I have the Kadet II. Bought it a year ago from Buds. Will check if the hammer fits.

Cool, sounds like you are pretty close, I bet you only need a tiny bit to get it to slide into place nicely.

Kadet II should fit the wide hammer.  Its a close fit, but I've had reliable ignition.
