FTL

Hello all from a newbie.  To this forum, that is :-)

I am a competitive shooter, using my CZ SP 701 Shadow.  Great gun!

I throw around 500 rounds per month, sometimes as much as 1,000 rounds.

For the last 1 1/2 years it's been a great gun.

Lately, within the last 3 weeks or so, it's been behaving badly.

The rounds fail to load.  The round does not make it up the load ramp into the chamber. It sits more or less half-way in.
This is happening about 15 times or so out of every  100 rounds. I've cleaned it maticulusly, and often.

What is the usual cause of this?  Could the recoil spring be bad?  How often do they need to be replaced?  Could it be something catching on the slide?

I figure that is has somewhere between 5,000 and 8,000 rounds through it.

Any help would be really appreciated :-)

Thanks guys... and gals...

Steve

:Hi Steve,  welcome to the forum from South Texas.
Post your question in the SP01, Shadow pistol forum and yoiu'll get some suggestions. to check out.
You'll be asked what specific bullet you're loading and more about what's been done to your Shadow.

Welcome.

If that is 8000 rounds in 1.5 years on the original recoil spring, then you are probably due for a replacement.

Time for a tune up, I would go through it and change the recoil and main spring at the very least. I would hit the sear cage while I'm in there, bring your sp01 back to what it used to feel like
