Rigged up a cheek riser
« on: November 10, 2017, 12:15:01 AM »
The stock on the Bren is okay enough but I wanted a cheek riser closer to the back of the receiver. The ACR stocks and adapters for a more reasonable price seemed to have dried up. So I took a spare piece of kydex and rigged up my own. I'm still trimming/fitting it but the general shape is there. There will need to be something to fill the gap above the hinge to help keep it solid but it's holding stable so far.

Neat idea.

Have you thought of using a matte black heat shrink wrap around the stock once you are done?  You could then cut openings where you need moving parts and hinges.  That approach could give you a nice finished look.

I will have to try that out. The more I've messed with this the more I've liked it so might as well keep tinkering.
