Unexpectedly won a Shadow 2 at Gunbroker auction.

I saw a new urban grey Shadow 2 on Gunbroker this morning with no reserve, and just for the heck of it, I put a $1002 bid on.  Sportsman Supply was the seller and only charges $15 for shipping. I really thought someone would bid it up to at least $1050, but that was not the case.

Just a month ago, I purchased an Aussie Shadow Orange and figured that was my last purchase for a long long while. Oh well, now I can do a range comparison to the Shadow Orange.   Hopefully, I should be able to do that next week.

Nice I picked up one recently for $1050 shipped with no CC fee so I got another 1.5% back in cash! So far I love it.

Absolutely not.
That's funny. I came across a great deal on another 97B, just couldn't pass it up. It's been in the safe since last week but oddly hasn't come up in conversation. Congrats on the S2, that one's hopefully next for me.

Congrats....really nice pick-up....not buyin' the "unexpectedly"........but that usually works for me as well, as long as I don't 'over use' it  :)

I picked up the Shadow 2 a few hours ago. I think I really lucked out on this one.  This is the best stock trigger compared to my other five CZ's. No trigger creep, no grittiness, short take up and a light crisp SA break. It has 1/2 the take up of my Aussie Shadow Orange and none of it's grittiness. The Orange has a  decent trigger and is better than my other CZ triggers, but this Shadow 2 trigger is just smoother.

The barrel lockup, slide to frame fit and barrel bushing gap rival my hand-fitted Shadow Orange. Exterior and interior finishing looks great.  Next stop will be the range.

There was no factory test target.

I took the Shadow 2 to the indoor range today and ran 100rds of 124gr Speer lawman and 150rds of 115gr American Eagle with zero hiccups.  I have to admit, this Shadow 2 is real close in performance to the Aussie Shadow Orange. The Shadow 2 trigger has less pre-travel than the Orange, but that did not translate to better accuracy in my hands. Overall, both models are keepers. A few target pics from today:

Lucky you. Where I live in Kalifornia the Shadow 2 is off roster and we can't buy out of state. Only way to buy is from a Private party and gougers are asking and actually selling anywhere from 2200-2600.
2000 would be a good deal for me. Enjoy.

Every time I see people put up their targets, I feel bad owning such a nice gun since I can't get groups anywhere near like that with my S2 :P
