I think that price should be a tad lower, but if it is a quality piece than it might be worth it. We need some reviews on it.

On one hand, I don't get it. On the other hand, I'm sure it's fun.

I got really excited when I saw that... until I saw the price.  I wouldn't pay anywhere close to what they're asking.  Probably not even half of that.

Why would anybody pay $150 for 50 rounds when you can buy a 30 round mag for $15-$20?

Too true, but the answer lies I suppose in the same reason I have two Magpul D60 AR mags ;)

Yet people buy 75 rds. AK drums for $80-$100 when 30 and 40 rds. mags run $10 to $15.  I get they got to recoup their tool investment and such and the EVO is a smaller market than  the AR, AK and even HK platforms. Pretty cool though.

This is just my actual experiance with drums ... I've got Beta-Mags in 5.56 for my AR & HK93 and 1 in 9mm for my HK MP5's (5, 5K & 5SD) ... In the last 8-10 years they mostly just sit on the shelf, which is why I haven't bothered to buy any of the new Magpuls.

Now, that being said, if I didn't have the 3 Beta-Mags, there's a good chance I'd buy one just for the cool factor.

One of the reasons I'm considering it include the fact that it is all metal.

...and then there is my inner 12 year old screaming about how cool it looks on the gun.

I've got a couple of Magpul D60 drums that work well, but outside of that I've yet to see a reliable drum.  Until we see a lot of testing with these, I'd regard this new one as a fun range toy if you don't mind clearing stoppages. No way I'd use this in an actual fight, and no way I'd pay that price for one.

Looks pretty, though.

I plan on getting one in the next few weeks.  Will report back on function after I take it out.
