TSO vs. Tactical Sport
« on: December 06, 2017, 07:36:03 PM »
I have looked through all the search and didn't find this.

I am a range shooter only. My question is will I really notice that much of a difference in a TSO vs. a Tactical Sport? I don't care to spend the extra $500 if there is a noticeable difference, but if I don't have to there is $500 toward another CZ.

Range shooter only would do just fine with the non Orange.  Same trigger.  Ergos are a little different but if you're not shooting for speed I'd save for more ammo!

This about says it all.  TS is an excellent handgun
It all sounded a lot funnier in my head.

Thanks for the input, that was my thinking as well, but just wanted a few opinions. Thanks again.

I saw a few TSOs before Black Friday, but the 9mm models all seem to be out of stock.

If you don't like the huge fat grip on the TS, just remove the cheap plastic magwell/grip combo and for 150 install the same combo on the TSO for a much better grip feel.

Biggest difference would be the brake pedal. For calm range use, probably insignificant.

Ok, so I went with the TS. The main reason why is that I just stole one on Gunbroker for $931 plus $30 shipping. The cheapest TSO I have found is $1689 plus shipping. The TSO is stunning but I think as a range guy I wouldn't be able to tell $700 difference. Also, it allows me to look for a matte 75 now.

As a range shooter, why shoot the TS line at all. The TS is built and optimized for Limited/Limited-10 USPSA Competition. The Production line of SPs are just as accurate, reliable, and, I believe,  many of the variants cost less.

If pressed to stay with TS than I strongly recommend the TS over the TSO when using a cost/value ratio (cool looks notwithstanding).
It all sounded a lot funnier in my head.

Not too bad of a deal (new they are ~$1050) if it comes with all the extras a new one does.
Once you get a chance to get it to the range, let us know what you think!

Because it's got a better trigger for less money than a Shadow 2?  Not everyone uses/needs the DA ability of the 75's.

I have the TS in .40 cal. its a fantastic firearm. I purchased the 9mm barrel from CZ custom. Fitted it and it runs fantastic.  When running 9mm the recoil is nearly non existent. I also added the fibre optic front sight from CZ custom.  At some point in the future i want the blue aluminum grips and going to have a friend CeraKote the slide and mag floors to match.
I've been a Glock shooter for years and I can tell you my CZ is far better firearm.
