Stealth Gear and P-01
« on: December 30, 2017, 02:00:55 PM »
I got my Standard Ventcore from Stealth Gear about a week ago. I ordered it on Black Friday.
Been wearing it almost every day since I got it.
I have to say, this is the most comfortable IWB setup I have ever tried. Very high quality.

If you dont mind, a couple of questions on the Stealth Gear...
Do you think it's adjustable enough to get a low ride ( full grip)
with a good amount of cant, maybe 30 degrees ?
What do you think the difference would be regular vs mini ?
Does it hold the butt in close to the body ?
Would you think the bulk/ thickness is comparable to a similar style leather holster ?
What are your thoughts on the plastic clips, do you think they'd hold up on a 1/4" thick 1.5" belt ?
I apologize for so many questions, I've been doing homework on these holsters.
I've edc'd a 1911 in a double loop Milt Sparks or TT Gunleather for quite some time and I'm considering
a Stealth Gear for a P10C.
I've tried a lot of holsters over a lot of years and prefer 2 loops / clips @ 3:30 - 4:00 but have found the plastic clips snap
easily, especially with a thick belt.
Your input would be much appreciated!

I got one a year ago for my SP-01 Compacts. I got the model for Appendix carry and it is incredibly comfortable! They make really good holsters!

On each side where the clips are you can move the screws up or down 3/4" plus the clips have 2 holes that are 1/2" apart. I think you should be able to get close to a 30 degree cant. You can see in the pics about where the belt would ride with the clips in the center  mounting holes. You can lower the ride another 1.25" straight down from what you see in the pics.
I've never seen a Mini so have no experiance with them.
I seems to hold the grip (butt) aginst my body almost all the time unless i twist or bend in odd ways.
As far as thicknes, when you first look at it you'll think it is a little thicker but once you put it on it compresses the material and i think it would be close to the the same thickness as a good quality leather.
This is my first time trying the plastic clips so only time will tell. They should work fine with the 1/4" x 1.5" belt. First impressions are that they are quite stiff and should hold up well.

Hope this helps. Let me know if i didn't explain myself well and i'll try again.

Mick, it helped quite a lot.
It looks like either that or a mini will be my next holster,
I, just want to minimize the odds of it going into the "holster drawer"
Thanks very much for the detailed, informative answer answer.

Have the same rig for a different gun (HK P2000), best and most confortable holster money can buy. Hands down much more versatile than the SHTF and Milt Sparks Criterion I have for the same gun. No issues whatsoever with the plastic clips, they are holding up very well.
