Scored a Tanfoglio BTA90... need mags PIC ADDED
« on: December 31, 2017, 10:48:07 AM »
Wife's great uncle was put into an assisted living facility, and her mom found this pistol while cleaning out the house and gave it to me. It's stainless and looks to be in pretty good shape. No magazines though.

Are they decent pistols? If so, where can I pick up some mags for it? Serial number is G289**. I've never owned a CZ, so any info is appreciated! Thanks!

Any pics? Sounds exciting! I haven't owned one but I'm curious to hear the answers and how you like this clone.

Maybe e-mail EEA (importer), check Greg Cote LLC and check places like gun broker, E-Bay, Amazon.
Best I got.
Good luck

A pic of the Pistol in question would be most helpful, as two very different frame generation versions have been sold.

These have been aptly described as Pre-Series 88 and Series 88.  I've had both and currently only own the Series 88 Pistols.

Pre Series 88 Pistols will use Pre Series 88 Tanfoglio Magazines and Pre B Cz75 Magazines.

Series 88 Pistols will use Series 88 Tanfoglio Magazines and Cz75B Magazines.

Series 88 Tanfoglio 9mm TA90's, Full Size and Compact. These have been exceptionally accurate and reliable.

Very very Nice!!!  8)  :)  You will find this Pistol to be very accurate and reliable!  Mine has been so and I used to carry it often.  I even used it to win an IDPA Match.

Your Pistol is exactly the same as my Series 88 Compact except for the finish, which yours is Flat Industrial Hard Chrome, which is quite durable.
It is definitely not Stainless Steel.

Current small frame 13 round Compact small frame Witness/Baby Eagle Magazines will work very well in it.  I do prefer Mec-Gar Magazines if you can get them.
CZ75B Magazines will also work, but extend a bit from the bottom of the Grip.

CDNN has them, but make sure when ordering that these are for a small frame Pistol.  https://www.cdnnsports.com/witness-compact-9mm-13rd.html?___SID=U#.WkvSBHlryUk

Also, when you've had a chance to shoot it, please post a Range Report on how it's doing for you.  Best of Luck with it!  :)

The small frame full size mags are Tanfoglio/eaa 101900.  That arm is a piece of art.

That's a little work of art!  Great find! From what I understand pre 2011 are small frame design.
