Checking for flying pigs!
« on: December 29, 2017, 07:44:40 PM »
A small miracle has occurred, I finally found a Henry H015-223 in stock! Placed an order with Buds, looks like I got the last one they had. Now to find a H015-243 and a H015-44. The 44mag is always sold out as soon as they come in. The 243 is easier to find than the 223, but not much. Got an email from Grab-a-Gun, they had 35 of the 223s and 20 or the 44s in stock at noon on Thursday, they sold out in 10 minutes.

Ordered a Weaver Classic 2.5-7x33 and the correct base with low rings. Looking forward to working up loads and having a new varmint rifle.

Picked up my new rifle this afternoon.  Installed the hammer extension, base, rings and scope. I'll be testing loads tomorrow late morning.

Out of the box:

After scope install:

I'm very impressed with quality of the wood and workmanship. The trigger is a little heavier than I'd like, but we'll see how it breaks in.
