75D Sear Pin Walking Out...
« on: January 11, 2018, 05:56:31 PM »
I bought one of these gems back in November.

I've had it to the range three times, about 100 rounds each time.

When I got home the other day I noticed the seat pin had walked out the right side, about .125+ inch.

The pistol has never been taken down further than a basic field strip for cleaning.

IIRC, this pin should only come out the left side of the weapon, or am I wrong?

I got a 97BD this past fall and mine did the same thing. Just a few rounds through it. I?ll be watching this post to find the cause

That need a trip back to the mothership.
Yes, it should only move out to the left. The hole on the right is too big.

You could have it staked, but if it was mine I?d send in for warranty. YMMV

The same goes for yours IMO, Chelanace.

^^^^ yep what country said. The frame hole is oversized and will need attention. I would absolutely send it back to CZ and let them fix it under warranty. Staking is possible but any damage done to the finish by anyone other than CZ probably won't be covered under warranty.

I was afraid y'all would say that.

Not real enthused about staking the hole to fix this though.

What's the general experience with customer service and turn around time?

Thanks for the input.

Do CGW know about the pin walking out, and are they gonna fix it? Just curious ?cause since your getting upgrades, warranty is off the table.

I can't speak for current turn around times as that generally depends on how busy they are to begin with. I have needed warranty service 2 times in the past and CZ customer service was the best I have ever dealt with as far as firearms go and I have had to send several back to various other gun makers.

That's good to know.

I'll get hold of them shortly, and let y'all know how it turned out when it's done.

Thanks again,

Update:

Shipped pistol to CZ USA first week of February, and it's back today the 26th.

CZ customer service very responsive. I can't say enough good things about my calls and emails. Well status updates until it shipped. Email confirming return shipment with a tracking number. Outstanding.

My pistol didn't return. They replaced the pistol with what I believe to be new one. You can't beat that.

But at the risk of being that guy that would bitc* if you hung him with a new rope, I'm kind of concerned with the replacement piece.

The underside, or internal surface of the slide is in the white. There is no finish on the underside.

Has anyone seen this before. I know and realize the frame is not fully coated with finish. But it's aluminum, and will not rust.

Check out a couple attached pics.

The frame and internals in the frame are no doubt brand new. I believe the slide to be as well, it's just that it has no finish coat on the underside steel.

The first two pics will show the slide with shipping lube. The next two are dried with a cotton rag to soak up the shipping oil. Last two pictures I took outside so that you can clearly see the paint line on the side of the slide.

Not quite sure how I feel about this.

The steel parts are given a phosphate treatment before the Polycoat is applied

Then why the rust?

Doesn't look like any parkerizing I've ever seen before. Looks to be in the white to me? {Shrug}

That is not rust at all even though it appears that way. That is just the discoloration caused by the phosphate finish. I have 7 CZ pistols and they all look that way inside. Some I've had more than 10 years and they look the same inside as the day I got them.
Give that gun a cleaning and lube and let us know how it shoots.
