CZ 52 won?t go into fully into battery
« on: January 18, 2018, 12:18:57 AM »
My old 52 has developed an issue where it will not fully go into battery. When the slide is off the frame, the lock is fully engaged with no gap between the chamber, roller cam, and bolt face. When the slide is locked on the pistol there is a very small gap between the bolt face and the chamber  ( approx .0015?) and a sizeable gap between the roller cam and the stop on the barrel (1/8?). This is substantial enough to prevent the slide from going forward enough to fire thank goodness, however if a loaded cartridge is chambered it effectively locks the assembly together. The only way to get the loaded cartridge out is to remove the slide, use a flathead screwdriver to fully engage the cam, and then push the cam forward to unlock it allowing the barrel to slide freely. This happened using Winchester metric, S&B, and soviet ?54? surplus ammo. I?ve owned this particular example for 5 years and put approximately 700 rounds through it.

Check your chamber and make sure there isn't a case head or other debris holding things up.
Czech it out!
