Federal HST 124gr and 147 gr
« on: January 16, 2018, 08:16:50 PM »
I went to range with two types of ammo.
I had Federal HST 124 gr (100 rounds) and same number of HST 147gr.
I shot them with three different guns. CZ 75B, PCR and HK P30sk.
Shooting went well with no malfunctions of any type.
I was just surprised how better I was with 124gr. Not by little, but by much.
I also enjoyed shooting 124gr much better than 147 gr.
Probably it's all individual, but for me, from now on, it will be all the way 124gr. Especially given that ballistic results between the two are showing very small difference.

My full size CZs definitely shoot tighter groups on paper with 124 gr ammo vs. any other weight.  I choose 147gr (standard pressure) for SD because the of its performance during deceleration into intended target (God forbid).  Heavy for caliber is good for SD.

In my H&K P30SK LEM, I carry Federal Short Barrel 150 gr HST.  The P30SK is accurate and very reliable.

HST's are a winner in 9mm.

Al my pistols seem to like 1124gr bullets best, it is probably me.
