Compact 75 with steel frame and decocker options
« on: January 21, 2018, 04:21:14 PM »
Hello!  I own a CZ75B 9X19, a Kadet, and an older, surplus, Jericho 9X19 (stamped as Desert Eagle) with frame mounted safety and am thinking about adding a compact, with steel frame and decocker.  I've been seeing info. on the P01 with steel frame, but am wondering if the same with a decocker, or a 75 compact with decocker, are easy to find, as well as approximate current market prices, new or used.

If what I want is rare, or very expensive, I might consider the steel framed P01 or a 75 compact.  The D PCR looks good, but it only seems to be available in an alloy frame as well.

Thanks for any and all uselful info.

Get this and don't look back.
No decocker, but outstanding gun and value.
This is one of the very few left of 50 imported in US.
Got mine ,few days ago and love it.

The steel frame compact decockers date from the 99-02/04 period and were surplus security pistols from overseas. The last batch came in during the latter half of 2017. I think they were in the $300-400 range but someone here might know better. Who knows if there will be more. It is not a current offering. This one is a fantastic shooter even before it was refinished and Cajunized.

I highly recommend the steel frame Compact D pistols. I bought a surplus one last year.

Otherwise, if you want a Compact and a Decocker, you are looking at aluminum alloy framed pistols (PCR or P-01).

Excellent choice.

Psyop96: An US/Israeli handgun instructor teaches classes in the US now and then.
He sold me his extra PO1, and said during the 2-day class that some Israeli 'Border Patrol' officers carry the PO1 when off-duty. I don't know what their official duty gun is.

Lots of recent CZ 83s in .380 were trade-ins, reportedly shipped from Israel, so maybe Some of their departments remained with CZ products. Tons of these CZ-83s are still avail. on GB.

Sidenote: they carry both rifles And handguns with empty chambers. :-X :o

Cool looking CZ 75D. I'm not sure I'd even refinish it.  I'll see if I can still find one.

I bought two surplus CZ83s many years ago in Excellent condition.  I eventually sold one, but kept the other, with the rounded off trigger guard and older markings. It's one of three or four .380s I'm holding onto.

Too bad what I'm looking for wasn't imported in greater numbers.

Thanks for the replies!

Last year was a bumper crop for imports of surplus 75D Compacts.  I also picked one up... check on gunbroker. I'm guessing there are still some around gathering dust.

I was wondering the same thing so glad to see the questioned posed.  Didn?t realize new ones were unicorns.
