I was out of town last week so I couldn?t pick up my order. I?ll go get them tomorrow on my lunch break. I got a new component for my 650 to expand and flare the brass so Coated bullet are easier to load. So I?ll get that set up and hopefully later in the week I?ll have some loaded up to test. I?ll compare them side by side with some Berry?s bullets.

m1a,  Your S2 really liked those bullets.  Good shooting.

Thanks, all things considered I'm 64 and can't see squat LOL so its always a dilemma, use my glasses so the front sight is clear target blurry or no glasses and front sight blurry and target clear (kinda LOL) I know the focus on your front sight but either way I'm getting movement even when I use a solid rest, but over all for ME I am content with most of my results ! I will be interested in some of the younger guys/gals results with better vison than me !  ;) Also a big thing is the powder I'm using, I'm trying to use it up and am almost there so once I get back to the "real" Universal I can play with loads and more things cuz there is no use in getting to fancy with this powder that I'll never have/use again. Anyways will be interested in other peeps results and will look forward to any and all info.  ;D

Gallant .356 dia,  125 gr RN bullet chrono results this morning::
CE Pro Chrono

10 shots each load test
4.0 GRS, VIT n320
OAL 1.135
AVG :  1058
E.S. :      31
S.D. :        8

4.1 GRS, VIT n320
OAL  1.135
AVG:  1065
E.S. :      28
S.D. :        9
I also shot 20 RDS at targets to get the feel for the loads.
The 4.0 load shot soft and smooth out of my very dirty  75 Shadow.  "I" was shooting a little low with this load.

The 4.1 load shot smoothly and a little more on target.  I did my shotgun hull at 27 yards test from a rest on my gun bag.  I bounced the same hull 3 time in 4 shots.😀🙌. Hitting the berm within an inch below  or sometimes beside the hull will move it.  Two of these hits popped it firmly.  One was too low. One was close

Maybe because I was expecting it to shoot a little softer than my jacketted loads,  that's how both loads "felt".  The 4.0 gr loads definitely " felt" softer.

After the Gallant  tests,   I went back to my 124 PD jhp  loads,  and they DID feel a little snappier at 1060-65 fps.
FWIW.   These  were my first guess loads shooting coated lead for the first time..

I might try the 4.0 gr n320 loads seated a little deeper into the case on my next range trip:  1.125" oal = .240" seating depth nominally.  I want to see if POI and chrono numbers improve.

I got a sample of the gallant 135 and was really impressed. These have an OAL of 1.13 pushed and plunked nicely in my S2. The best thing was I had my seating die set for 124 acme' sat 1.09 and because of gallants profile I didn't have to modify anything. I think these are going to be my favorites for awhile. Nice quality and price

Leatherhead Bullets announced that they are merging with Gallant and will be manufacturing out of the Gallant facility. They will be shutting down the Leatherhead facility on June 15th and starting up with Gallant in July.

Oh that?s cool. Eli said they had an announcement coming soon when I picked up my order this week. He also mentioned they are working on initiating a move to a larger facility and should triple their output ( if I remember correctly) with new machines.

1SOW was that 1.250 or 1.125 on your Gallant's, on the last post?  I have 1.162 pass the plunk test and didn't really want to extend that worrying about the mags getting short on space.

Good question. And also, what gun ?

Good thinking. No problem with RN, but you never can tell what a HP might hang up on. When it gets that long, I use 1.160" as a working max.

Since most any bullet is going to perform better with more case engagement, with a 124gr RN you're always better off with OALs from 1.120 to 1.140", with 1.125" being a perennial favorite.

Corrected my errors above and added  the gun and primers.  Same as my first post.....

Over all, The 4.1 gr vit n320 load at 1.135" shot better for me.....so far.
